Coraxian
Those that inhabit the coast of the Katrian Bay are known as Coraxians. These folk have lived in and around this area for millennia, exploring every nook and cranny the Bay has to offer. They were once citizens of the ancient Godrikian Empire, but since the founding of the Church of the Raven Queen and the Black King's Rebellion, they have remained an independent people. The Coraxians are expert sailors, using this fact to bring much wealth into their lands via trade with far off lands. With the recent conquests of King Gerlat Beaudoir I and later his son King Lothar Beaudoir III all Coraxian lands have been united under his banner, making them quite possibly the most powerful nation in the entire north of the Radiant Nexus.

Culture
Shared customary codes and values
With the majority of Coraxians worshiping the Raven Queen, they have a great regard for death, seeing the natural end for all things. They do not fear it, nor relish in it. Instead they see life as a way to experience what the world has to offer, it is a chance to impress their goddess and make something of themselves before they inevitably join her in the Fortress of Memories. This attitude has in turn led to many Coraxians to despise the unliving and a great suspicion of those that would bring the dead from their graves, whether it be a necromancer, lich or even a cleric who would seek to bring a soul back into a dead man's body.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Living mostly in a dry summer subtropical climate zone, Coraxians generally have olive colored skin, and dark hair and eyes. To most in the north this is seen as an exotic and beautiful look, but to Coraxian nobles tanned skin is seen as the skin of the working class peasant. This means that many try to lighten their skin whether it be with the use of makeup, or even blood letting. This is done by both male and female nobles.
Female nobles typically wear wide-hipped dresses and corsets in order to shrink their waists and accentuate their hips. Male nobles typically wear tight-fitting suits, white wigs and most try to keep themselves as fit as possible, with more overweight nobles being seen as lazy and boorish. Both wear clothing with one or more bright colours, purple being the most popular due to it being a relatively rare dye (only being extracted from the venom Coraxian Spitting Sea Snake that's found at the very depths of Katrian Bay).
Gender Ideals
Coraxians see men and women as equal in all manners. Both men and women are allowed and encouraged to take part in debates, are able to own land, serve in the military and neither are forced into occupations or roles within society.
