Though this quote from writer, Sir Dunkard Flois is nearly a 100 years of age, nothing has ever held so true of a family as this one does of the von Oberdocks. This house of schemers, politicians and opportunists have weaselled their way into some of the most powerful and prestigious positions within the Empire of Coraxia through pure wit and cunning alone. Every member is educated on the intricacies of politics and manipulation from an early age, and they are soon thrusted out into the world in order to make their skills of use. Their schemes have even managed to place the wife to the head of the family, Hilda von Oberdock into the position of High Priestess of the Raven Queen, and their eldest son, Godrick von Oberdock, as betrothed of the Empress. For over 150 years, beginning with the house's family Archmage Kaleb, this family has stood by the throne, weaving a web of power and influence that they utilise to this day.
