Empire of Coraxia

After 697 years, the once insignificant and minuscule Kingdom of Beaudoir has risen to power as an empire that stretches from the very tip of Hughgra's Cove to the northern edges of the Dzikan Jungle. With the aid of several generations of tactful and wise Emperors, beginning with Emperor Lothar Beaudoir I, Coraxia is quite possibly the Nexus' first superpower ever since the fall of Lathlaeril.

Structure

Since the coronation of Lothar I of the House Beaudoir 157 years ago, the Empire of COraxia has been ruled solely by the Emperor/Empress. This sovereign ruler has complete control and authority over the entirety of their realm, and with the aid of long range communication via the use of magic, this has created an enormous and highly effective centralised state. However, one person cannot rule alone without council, and so the monarch appoints a council of advisors that aid them in their rules. This council consists of 8 individuals each tasked with different subsections of the empire, currently these 8 councillors are: 
  • Viscount Johan von Oberdock - Lord Chancellor (Overseer of the Council, Chief Advisor to the Corwn and Appointed Regent in the Absence of the Monarch) 
  • Viscount Luen Hughgért - Lord Imperator (Minister of Justice and Lawful Affairs) 
  • Viscount Jean-Phillipe Ealing - Lord Treasurer (Minister of the Treasury)
  • Viscountess Julia Quentón - Lady Trademaster (Minister of Trade, Logistics and Resources)
  • Viscount Charles De Jacque - Lord Ambassador (Minister of Foreign Relations)
  • Viscountess Helena Lafayette - Lady Justiciar (Minister of Armed Forces)
  • Viscount Darmouth Audu - Lord Magi (Minister of Magical Affairs)
  • Viscount Lucien Oránge - Lord Propugnator (Minister of the People, Development and Human Rights)
Alongside the Empress' Council are two other major councils, the Estates General, an assembly of the different classes (or estates), and the Re Consilio, a legislative and consultative assembly of the local rulers for the different territories of Coraxia.    The Estates General only meet when called upon by the Empress and her Council, it serves as an advisory body to the Empress, primarily by presenting petitions from the various estates and consulting on fiscal policy. It consists of three estates, the nobles (First Estate), the clergy (Second Estate) and the people (Third Estate).   The Re Consillio meets every year (or if called upon by the Empress) and takes place so that the many territories and people groups of the Empire can ask for aid from the central authority or air their grievances with any recent legislations or rulings made by the Empress' Council. It is a place where local lords and religious figures (aside from members of the Crimson Creed who have been barred from any future meetings after their constant efforts to incite riots and revolution) can meet and discuss the state of empire and their lands, and it has been very useful for the running of the centralised government.
