The Martellite Empire
Perhaps the most expansive nation on the continent, Martellia is the nation inherited from the conquests of Martin Eleanor, an ambitious knight from over 200 years ago who wished to reestablish and mimic the old Elven Empires. He and his descendants came very close to achieving this goal, until the last of the Eleanor dynasty proved to be a failure, and lost the throne in recent years to Charles Henrik Ecleziar.
Before Charles became Emperor, the sheer size of Martellia resulted in several internal conflicts within the Empire. Many of the various duchies and counties within the Empire have been subjected to wars, plagues, and curses. The consequences of these tragedies still echo to this day, with many grudges left unsettled, and several noble houses fallen to the Curseblood.

Martellia gains its name from its founder, Martin Eleanor. It is a portmanteau of his given name, and the name of his dynasty. Martellite is the adjective form. Someone from Martellia is also referred to as a Martellite.
