Curseblood

Cursebloods are the descendants of people who have either befallen a curse, or someone who gave up their bloodline as tribute to cast one. The cursed magic affects their bodies physically, altering their shape to various, almost devil-like appearances. Horns, tails, and odd skin colors are not out of the question. This leads to a false stigma that all Cursebloods are devil spawn, when in reality they are victims of a terrible fate they likely had nothing to do with.  The cursed magic infused in their forms is not without its benefits, however. A Curseblood's condition is ultimately caused by an increased amount of tainted magic in their body, and they can use that power themselves, to a degree.   Cursebloods are most frequently encountered in The Martellite Empire, where a history of court intrigue and dark plots have ruined many a family.   Cursebloods have also been known to appear among The Eiturwood Confederation of Elven Tribes, as vengeful elven chieftains may be ready and willing to sacrifice their own family for the destruction of a threat to their tribe.   In The Fylkirate of Northmen, Cursebloods are often the subjects of vengeful witches placing vindictive magic on unsuspecting warriors.
