Martin Eleanor
Martin Eleanor was the first Emperor of The Martellite Empire, founding the nation known to the present world. Several disjointed duchies were left behind when the last Elven Empire fell, with chaotic wars and disputes dividing what became known later as The Original Duchies.
Martin Eleanor was born into the house of Eleanor, the family which ruled over the duchy of Ariella. Being the most central duchy, Ariella was often the subject of frequent invasions from their neighbors. This caused Martin's father to often go to extortionate measures to deal with these attacks, leaving the people, although safe, with little means to use that safety. Upon the death of Martin's father, his ascent to the throne was troubled by several peasant revolts. Instead of bringing a merciless suppression to his people, Martin instead went to the city square to face the peasant's leader and negotiate with him. Instilling faith and trust in the people, he organized an effort to bring an end to the seemingly endless wars enveloping the duchies. After several wars, Martin's exploits enabled him to unite the duchies and form the Martellite Empire, which would continue to grow under his descendants, until Charles Henrik Ecleziar overthrew the last emperor of the Eleanor line.
