Persephone Park
Persephone Park is a moon garden where the bereaved can come to grieve and take solace in beauty, be alone or with others, and be tended to by staff and volunteers if desired. It is considered a sacred place and is open to everyone of any socioeconomic status as long as they respect the rules of respecting other visitors’ privacy, no camping, no violence.
Persephone Park is a park in Hades frequented by mourners – especially at night.
It is a place full of light in the darkness, for mourning for the dead while surrounded by life –and lit by mushrooms turning dead matter into new life.
Many find it a deeply comforting place to mourn.
Soforos and volunteers tend the garden and offer support to mourners.
There are benches and gazebos all over the park, many beside weeping willows and other trees and shrubs that provide some privacy.
