Steel Horizons A Savage Worlds RetroFuturistic Text RPG
Steel Horizons is a game created for collaborative writing, focused on telling a shared story and cooperative roleplaying (RP). Characters in this game should be developed in a way to avoid overt player-versus-player actions. We are a diverse community that prides itself on being open and accepting of all people. Many of our members are LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or have triggers or trauma, and we strive to make the game a fun and safe environment for everyone.
The “mega” city of Olympia has stood for 326 years. The founders built the city to be able to expand as more and more people joined them, creating a series of concentric walled circles and dividing the city into Octants according to the wishes of the Old Ones. During the Wasteland Period, irreparable damage was done to knowledge, culture, and life. Arks were raided or destroyed, and so knowledge of the time Before Founding, or “BF”, is scant at best.
Olympia is a bastion of hard won culture and civilization. It is not without its own internal issues with crime, violence, and struggles between those who have access to money and those who do not; however, any member of the city will put those aside the moment things from beyond the city begin to threaten. Beyond the walls, manned by the GateWatch, lay the untamed Wilds. The average Olympian has never left the walls, and stories run rampant about what that world must look like. Stories tell of great, canyon like, abandoned cities from before the Horrors, of roving tribes of raiders, of broad, open, areas, and of course, legends of delving into long forgotten Arks for the secret histories of the world and the Lostech of prior generations.
