Aesilt
A country consisting of large amounts of desert and savannah, with a greater density of forests in the west. After a Civil war in the early 11,000s the kingdom has been split into two factions: The Western Kingdom of Aesilt and the Eastern Republic of Aesilt.
It resides in the westernmost part of the continent of Molug.

Structure
Western Aesilt functions on a system very similar to the Feudal system: The King (currently Berdand Bendum) on the top, Lords below them, assigned knights below that and the peasants at the bottom.
The main difference is that peasants can be assigned as knights through deeds of valour or service to the country. This allows them land and a homestead and puts them in service to the Lords rather than the Knights.
Eastern Aesilt elects a parliament every fifty years: one from each of the seven major races of Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Dragonborn, Tieflings, Halflings and Gnomes.
This has caused many of the minor races to feel underrepresented, and several protests have been initiated, none sucessful.

Culture
The native language of both sides of the country is Aeslian.
The western kingdom has the central faith of the Mountainhead Church and places a high emphasis on valour and war; they're famous for their skilled mercenaries. However their exports, despite having forests unlike their eastern counterpart, leave something to be desired.
The eastern parliment however has no centralised religion and focuses moreso on economic expansion, setting up several trading routes not only between their cities but also to Western Aesilt and overseas, a significant trade route: known as the River of Silver, runs through the west and overseas to the city of New Avalon.

Assets
No one is entirely sure the reserve that the Parliament of East Aesilt stores away, but the king in the west is very boastful about their funds: 750,000 gold. The truthfulness of the statement is in question.
History
Originally the country was ruled by the Lokshev family of royalty under three duchies. While not perfect it lacked any notable events worthy of world attention. After the Doom, two of these duchies were revealed to be members of The Order of the Holy Sword and were stripped of rank and power. King Bolrek Lokshev tried to keep his kingdom in one piece afterwards by renouncing all Lord's power, returning it all to the king. While he and his son, Egis, ruled with a degree of wisdom and kindness, their grandchildren hoarded the wealth, leading to the infamous 50 year famine in which 200,000 died. The peasants' revolt was inevitable, but failed, and so another thousand years passed with a notorious tyrant. The Dwarven Kingdom became involved at one point, smuggling several refugees and gemstones off country. In 11,350, there was a successful revolution started by noted ex-noble Lord Fender Bendum involving several mercenaries and dwarven militia in the fight against the king. After twelve years they were successful, but the matter of government was one that failed to be resolved immediately. While many were, understandably, unhappy with the idea of another king, others wanted to return to a better time under the Duchies. After three years and two assassinations, Lord Bendum was made King of half the Kingdom, and a Parliament was established in the East.
