Dragonslayer Challenge

The Dragonslayer Challenge is an exhilarating hot wings challenge hosted at a popular local restaurant nestled in a charming town in southern Emberland. This daring challenge requires participants to consume ten fiery chicken wings, each generously coated in the notorious Bleed Sun Hot Sauce, and a basket of fries within a mere five minutes. The sauce is infamous for its intense heat, inspired by the legendary bleeding sun dragon species, known for its striking, fiery red scales and extraordinary ability to soar at high altitudes — aptly described as "flying closer to the sun."   Those brave enough to conquer the Dragonslayer Challenge are immortalized as champions, earning the esteemed title of Dragonslayer. Their triumph is celebrated as their name and photo are proudly displayed on a dedicated wall of fame within the restaurant, serving as a badge of honor for those who dare to test their mettle against the fiery wings. Most notably, however, dragons themselves are distinctly excluded from participating in the challenge.  

The Myth

Some residents are hesitant to participate in the challenge or even to taste the notorious hot sauce, largely due to a long-standing myth that has cast a shadow over its reputation. The sauce is crafted from a specific type of pepper harvested in the blistering Duskfire Desert, which is known to be incredibly hot and unsuitable for human consumption in its raw form. However, the peppers undergo a meticulous drying and roasting process before they are blended into the sauce. This preparation method effectively breaks down some of the compounds responsible for its inedibility, resulting in a flavour profile that is significantly milder than in its raw form. Despite this, many individuals still remain hesitant to engage in the challenge.
