Damaris Island (ˌdɛmˈɑːrɪs)
Damaris Island is a small island located in the northern artctic sea far from the shores of Ravia. It almost looks out of place, given its location and lack of any other islands around it, The only structure that is on this island is the Damaris Castle, but throughout the centuries of the sea beating at its walls and the freezing temperatures in the winter, most of the castle has crumbled into the icy sea; the only structure surviving time is the keep, today known as the Icebound Keep.
Geography
The island is fairly low to the sea level and has shrunk slightly over the years. The rock rising out of the water was at the perfect height to build a castle on top without it being taken by the sea for a long time.
No one really knows why this island is here, as there are no other islands around, and it is far from the shores of northern Ravia. Some believe it could have been a hot spot volcano, but there is no evidence that suggests this.
Climate
The climate of this island today is freezing and icy most of the year. It is theorized that when this castle was built in the year 420, the climate in the area was much milder.
