The vast coastal wetlands of Rivedea are home to a loose federation of independant city-states and petty kingdoms known as the River Thrones. Rivedea was once a prosperous County of the Province of Sulinoria during the Imperial Era that stole its independence away from the Sulin during the Long War. Now a fierce hatred simmers between the rival neighbors, as Rivedea holds strong against the Suliese who ceaselessly seek to regain their only access to the Aecornaus. The resilient residents of this region are known as Riveans or Riverfolk.
Inspired by the Renaissance Italian Principalities; namely Venice, Naples, and Florence, and the Duchy of Croatia and Sicily.
