Armillary Dome

Archivist's Excerpt from: Heuridium’s Height: Secret Inventions & Industrial Developments of the Grand Academy of Science’s Hypothetical Division of Possibilities, Nonexistent Edition, CVI 42.4

"Oh Master Esker, there is always another level. [...] Think of Orphan’s Armillary as a great observatory, one aimed at more … distant coasts, and its lens bends the patterns of stars seen above into new ones below."
— Professor Hiram Lorecroft

Rather improperly named for an antiquated piece of Renaissance Astronomical equipment, the Armillary, the Orphan Armillary Dome, realistically named for lack of a better term, was long rumoured to exist in some for, in some place, built by somebody for some purpose at some point. It should be noted that such rumours stem primarily from articles such as "Orphan's Great Eye in the Sky: How the Elites Know Everything About You!" and other tripe put out by the Hilldiver, but it warranted reminding.

Among the greatest secrets of the Heuridium entirely is the existence of a wholly nonexistent Seventh Level, out of Six. The Tower, which hangs mostly suspended from the great Limeiron arches of Orphan Heights, is comprised of these six levels, the bottom one being dedicated as the Museum of Science & Fabrication, and all others being long shut down, sealed off, obsolete, and defunct. Above all of these, atop Orphan itself is the Seventh, a great mechanism, something most closely resembling an enclosed Armillary or observatory, not unlike the one Alvin Esker of Harchester imagines inside the top of his head. The ultimate purpose of this device is still not entirely clear, but it seems at least one of its central functions was to pre-map the Metarcanum in order to program and prepare the Oculix for Infusion of a subject prior to the assistance of the Halo program that it, itself would Infuse, a Catch-22 of a problem. There seems to be further functionality of the device, however, including cymatic induction of sorts, recording Metarcanal patterns, and possibly more. The status of the dome is unknown since the events of the , so perhaps further research is necessary.
