3rd Seojungsday of Autumn's Edge, Second Age 1853: After Isenara's duties to the kingdom were concluded, we finally turned our attention to the coastal ruins we spotted when we first arrived. Nythara, brought along by Lady Aria, was a goldmine of information on blood magic. I was all ears, pretending Isenara was just taking notes for me, but I was the one truly eager to learn. I should make the time to meet with Nythara next time fighting isn't expected so Isenara can take a moment of reprieve. I have to admit, being along for the ride can be quite relaxing as long as we're not in mortal peril.
We got there on the 2nd Brahmarusday, and while the dwarves started digging, we explored. Isenara was my eyes, while I reached into the depths of my knowledge for any connections. Nythara pointed out some barely visible markings. Talindra suggested they might be connected to Araneth, a deity whose worship has faded into legend. This could mean we've stumbled upon something significant - ruins not just of any civilization but possibly a sacred site for an ancient god. What could this mean for the practice of magic here? If these ruins are indeed dedicated to Araneth, they might hold secrets of lost magic, wonders of the creator god.
The morning of the 2nd Seojungsday was interrupted by Zaelith's screams cause by a nightmare. They were muted from my position deep within our shared mind, but even I was shaken from the slumber.
The next day passed without incident, but the prospect of accessing deeper parts of the ruin, potentially full of artifacts from the Age of Wonder, kept my curiosity alight. Tomorrow we head below.
