WorldEmber 2025
WorldEmber 2025.
Last year I struggled to reach 25,000 Words. I almost got there, but no dice.
Earlier this year I fumbled Summercamp, only making two articles.
This time though, I am ready, I am in the right headspace, I have the energy, I will do this.
In the spirit of WorldAnvil opting to take a different approach to their WorldEmber festivities with a bingo, I am going to do the same. Music is going to happen. Both in the literal music making end of things but, well, the articles that'll be made this year.
The header for this is glitchy and distorted, and that's all in theme. We're going to explore places other than Earth now. It's going to be Terra Eclipsis this time. The Sands, Strakh, & Sheol will be seen. Perhaps even Blackstar. Many things will happen. Things in the void call. Noises. Voices. Time for bingo.
For those whom have yet to know what WITHERED WORLDS is, go here:
Withered Worlds is many things. Surreal. Strange. Corrupted and Creepy. I would describe it personally as this: A dream. It's like a dream. Below are stubs and articles I wish to write and finish, a list that isn't final and will most definitely grow or change as time goes on.
Stubs I Wish To Finish
Articles I Wish To Write
Who can you find here?
Elves who have become determined as all hell to survive. Demons that will go to extreme lengths to ensure they don't become lost. Reptilia whom have embraced the chaos of their lives. Strakhians who have embraced the darkness in their hearts. You'll find all sorts of varied and colorful folks in these realms, some of whom will give everything to live for just a bit longer.
The Inspirations
A lot of the looks of Withered Worlds is inspired by the looks and aesthetics of SNES and PS1/PSX era games, with compressed graphics and retro-style imagery. This aesthetic shall hopefully allow for a whimsical, otherworldly vibe for most elements of it, especially as far as the sci-fi and fantasy elements go. Alongside that, there will be a significant glitchy aesthetic inspired by works such as Rob Sheridan's.
Outside the artistic stylization of Withered Worlds, there are a fair amount of other influences on it that I've held near and dear to my heart. Whether it's the themes or ideals behind a song I am listening to, or the aesthetic and feelings brought about by a video game, or the emotional rollercoaster on display in a TV show or movie, all of these have influenced Withered Worlds to a wide degree.

Good luck writing as many words as possible!!
