The ordinary fauna of Whenua, animals live and thrive in every corner of the land. Unlike other creatures, they lack innate magical traits or powers, yet they play an essential role in the balance of nature and the lives of the Kāka. Some have been domesticated for companionship, food, or labor, while others roam wild across forests, plains, and seas.
