The Fisherman Hero
The fisherman hero who found a gigantic ark on the bottom of the ocean and built a home for his family out of it, living out of what the sea offered them.
After centuries spent on the sea, Maui, old and tired, found a free island where no other kāka ever stepped foot. He docked the ark, took it inland and used part of it to build a village.
The island was called Whenua and Maui lived there until the end of his days. No one went to the sea again and Whenua became the new home of the Māuikuras.
