Red Cap
Another district that had turned quarantine zone during the plague. For the most part it was for minor symptoms and the district has built itself back up. It's now known for being the pleasure district north of the river. Theaters, dance halls, music halls, open air pavilions and band stands, poppy dens and pleasure houses fill the unassuming streets. Colorful flowers strung between buildings and bright paper lanterns light the way even on the darkest of nights.
Assets
Red Cap has the most artsy buildings of the entire city, with outdoor and indoor theaters, public art installations, art galleries, and a high population of the entire cities artists and writers. Shortly after the Winter Plague had passed on and Red Cap became what it was a Bards College was built. The Blackhall Bards College is the gem of Red Cap, and some may argue, all of Knotside. Aspiring Bards from all across Waylia come here, both those gifted in the magic that is produced through their art, and those who simply wish to become extremely talented artists and entertainers.
History
Before the Plague struck Knotside, Red Cap had been mostly housing with a few markets and squares that would sell vegetables. It already had a few theaters, both indoor and outdoor, and most of the artist population made their homes here. After the Plague the artists returned in full force and with the sudden lack of population after the deaths and people moving away from the city, they easily took control. They took the district from one of small apartments and cramped living quarters to the most colorful and beloved district.
Theaters, art galleries, musicians, and street acts line the wide roads. Every day is like a celebration, and the permanent population of the district acts more like a tight knit family than a district of neighbors. Everybody knows everybody, and if one of them experiences a slight, the whole district takes offence. That isn't to say that the average entertainer here doesn't get caught in their own petty squabbles.
