Flesh Market
In the days of old this district was once a hub for the trade of humanoid slaves. Slaves could be bought and sold here and kept in small warehouses until they were transported to their new owners. Slavery in Knotside was outlawed well over a century ago, and has since become the main market district. Travelling caravans stop and sell their wares along the broad sloping avenue, and the Grand Market is filled with family owned staples of the city. Flower shops, confectioneries, jewelers, smiths and cobblers alike can be seen in stalls and inset shops selling their wares. This multi level building is sturdy marble, a bright white beacon strung up in lights, flowers, and decorations according to the holidays and the districts whims.
On its eastern edge lies the Sanatorium, making Knotside of the few places in the entirety of Waylia to have a hospital. Originally it was an old government building but it was completely remodeled in the wake of the Winter Plague, and has the capability to treat medical conditions, diseases, trauma, and forms of mental illness and madness. The City employs healers both magical and mundane, with many of their healers hired directly from the Royal Academy of Knotsides healing program. Others are hired and recruited from the local temples and paladin orders, their divine powers of healing highly sought after.
