Tor Vael
Tor Vael is an inland city that sits near the entrance of the Chasm of Sorrows, guarding one of of the few mountain passes between Cothique’s and the Inner Kingdoms. The chasm is as dangerous as its name suggests, and fine warriors with no interest in the ocean make their living in Tor Vael by offering to guide travellers safely along the edge of the chasm. The city features a temple of Hoeth, and serves as the base for Cothique’s loremasters, who are often the first to receive visitors from Avelorn. The city has long been known for its importance to the loremasters and is home to a remote underground chamber known as the Vault, where a number of magical artefacts are kept under their dutiful watch.
