Kesh'ari
The Kesh’ari is the supreme commander of the Sapphire Glaive—the elite martial order sworn to the personal service of Empress Salena. As the highest-ranking member of the Glaive, the Kesh’ari is entrusted with maintaining the ideological purity, strategic direction, and operational efficiency of the entire order. The title has only ever been held by a single individual at any one time.
Qualifications
There are no formal qualifications known to the public. However, the following traits are assumed prerequisites:
Complete ideological alignment with the Empress and her vision
Flawless service record within the Glaive, often rising through the ranks
Demonstrated mastery in both martial combat and magical discipline
Absolute discretion and emotional control
Requirements
Must be a fully initiated Keshran of the Sapphire Glaive
Must pass through direct imperial trials known only to the Empress and her inner court
Must have led at least one Realm-level operation or campaign under imperial directive
Appointment
The appointment is conducted in secrecy within the Sapphire Palace. There is no public announcement, ritual, or formal investiture. Upon appointment, the Kesh’ari assumes command with immediate effect and receives direct orders from the Empress.
Duties
Maintain command and strategic oversight of all Glaive operations across the Empire
Execute or delegate imperial decrees involving enforcement, protection, or suppression
Train and discipline the Keshral and Val’kesh ranks beneath them
Serve as the Empress’s martial shadow in matters requiring covert or swift resolution
Attend to the security posture of the Sapphire Palace and the Empress’s person
Responsibilities
Field inspection and personal review of elite training cadres
Oversight of classified missions
Operational secrecy.
Military liaison to the Ministry of Defense when necessary

History
The role of Kesh’ari was established at the founding of the Sapphire Glaive, during the earliest days of the Empire’s unification. Its creation signaled a break from traditional military hierarchies and royal guards of previous regimes, replacing them with a structure founded on loyalty, merit, and silence. The first Kesh’ari was appointed directly by Empress Salena as part of her centralization of military power.
