Klusy
Overview
Klusy is a medium-sized town on the Didžiausias River where the Ezeras River flows into it. It is the seat of the Baronai of Klusy and ruled by the Baronas Ignas Petronis from his motte-and-bailey castle named Castle Vilkas. The economy of the town of Klusy is mostly based on agriculture, fishing, and lumber production as well as its positions as a stop on the trade route on the Didžiausias River that goes from the dwarven city of Holmlond and the Miskunasian cities of Karnius and Mituva. Being a major stop on the trade route causes the inns and stables in this town to be busy and assures that the stores in Klusy remain fully stocked.Locations
The Smiling Crab Inn
This establishment is the largest and most popular inn in Klusy and its tavern section is usually full of both Klusy locals and river and road travelers. The rooms are both modest and comfortable. The food in the tavern is pretty good with their fish stew being their most popular option. A Miskunasian couple named Vautas and Linna operate this inn with some of their seven children and their halfling friend and cook Jura.Old Oak Stables
This large stable is able to house at least a dozen or so horses and a few carts and carriages. The stables also acts as a ferrier and takes care of the hooves and horseshoes of the horses that stay here. A Miskunasian human man named Martas owns and operates the stable with his human wife Audra and his three daughters. His twin brother Simas raises horses on a small ranch on the outskirts of the town. Simas will often house some of his horses at the stable for Martas to sell to those who need them.The Trusty Hammer
This weapon and armor shop carries any normal weapons that costs 500 gp or less. The weapons and armor from this shop are well-made but seem a little strange. A human man with a Riddenish accent named Tomas is the proprietor of this shop. He is tall for most humans but still a little shorter than most Miskunasians and has fine brown hair which he wears short.Galina’s General Store
This general store sell all kinds of goods that can be useful for both normal living and travel. Food, clothing, travel gear, and many other things can be found in this store. This store has been in town for decades, but has only been called by its current name for the last few years when Galina took over. Galina is a Miskunasian human woman who took over ownership of the store when her father died a few years ago. And while she is relatively young, she was his only child. She renamed the shop to make it explicitly her’s. She is a short and thin young woman with sandy blond hair.Crimson Cape Tap Room
This tap room is moderately small and is typically patronized by the locals of Klusy, mostly farmers and trades, who want a more subdued atmosphere than places like the Smiling Crab Inn provides. Andras is a Miskunasian human man who runs the tap room. He’s quite old and doesn’t have much of a sense of humor. He treats his regulars much better than those he doesn’t know.Orlov’s Alchemical Emporium
This alchemy shop is in a small building in the outer part of the town. This shop sells all sorts of potions and poultices, most of which are not really magical but are used for simple things like curing simple ailments. Orlov is an eccentric gnome that is originally from Yurinov and speaks with a thick Yurinovic accent. He is old and knowledgeable and has been in Klusy for many years. He is slightly absent-minded, but extremely detail oriented and perceptive. The shop has the following items for sale:- 4 potions of healing (50 gp)
- 5 vials of antitoxin (50 gp)
- 3 flasks of alchemist’s fire (50 gp)
- 1 potion of animal friendship (125 gp)
- 1 potion of climbing (60 gp)
- 2 potions of water breathing (150 gp)
- 1 potion of fire breathing (300 gp)
Demographics
The population of Klusy consists of mostly Miskunasian humans with small minorities of frost dwarves and blue dwarves, Miskunasian halflings, and Yurinovic gnomes. There are also smaller populations of humans of other ethnicities such as Polski and Riddenish.
Government
The town is primarily ruled by the Baronas of Klusy who allows a small council of prominent townspeople to govern over many local economic matters. The town guard answers to the Baronas.
Defences
Klusy is surrounded by wooden palisades on all sides that don’t contain water. The city has three main gates; one to the east, one to the west, and one to the south.
There are watchtowers along the river that watch for threats that come from the water.
Infrastructure
Klusy has many docks on the Didžiausias River that are used for a variety of types of boats, but are used mostly for fishing and trade.
Geography
Klusy is situationed at the intersection of two rivers, the Didžiausias River and the Ezeras River. The land of the town itself consists mostly of flat grasslands with some rolling hills and one large hill of which Castle Vilkas was built.
