About
Baelor Targaryen, or Baelor of Harrenhal, is one of the main characters of this story. He's part of the characters that don't belong to the ASOIAF canon, nor to the TBaTG canon. He's the first and only son of Prince Aemond Targaryen and his first wife, Alys Rivers , the High Priestess of the Isle of Faces. Because of his mother's lineage, who was half human and half Children of the Forest, it's implied that Baelor inherited her powers and can practice magic. At the age of twelve, he claims Silverwing, becoming her first rider after Queen Alysanne. After his father marries his cousin Baela Targaryen, he becomes her stepson and her heir, however, he decides not to inherit Dark Sister. At the age of seventeen, he marries Lady Alys Stark, daughter of Cregan Stark and together they have one daughter Alys, named after their two mothers; however, in 150 AC his wife dies in childbirth while trying to give birth to their second son, Aemond, who will die the day after. He will remarry only many years later, in 161 AC to his niece, the Crown Princess Laena Targaryen, with whom he will have three children, two sons and one daughter. He will be the first consort of a Queen to be called, King Consort, instead of Prince Consort.Personality and Traits
Baelor, at the beginning of the first book, is described to be a lovely six-year-old boy, with silver hair so pale it is almost white. The most peculiar trope about Baelor is that he has mismatched eyes, one so purple that it looks black and the other an intense yellow, almost gold. Little Baelor despite being Prince Aemond's first son doesn't assemble at all his father, while instead shares a strong resemblance with his cousin Aegon; however, this strange resemblance, as time passes by becomes uncanny to appear disturbing and at times frightening by Aemond. In fact, many will scoff at the fact that father and son look nothing alike; his face is round and delicate, with soft and puffy cheeks and large and round eyes, and his nose is small and upturned. However according to Harwin Strong, however, Baelor bears a striking resemblance to his mother when she was young. Baelor, because he was born prematurely, was a tiny and frail child, who had difficulty gaining weight and musculature and for this reason, during his childhood, he appeared younger than he actually was. According to Jessar Waters, who met him while living in the Isle of Faces, Baelor's body was thin and angular, as if he could be carried away by the slightest gust of wind. After leaving the Riverlands and arriving in King's Landing, he begins, little by little, with the help of his cousin Baela, to gain weight and grow in height. However, his puny being will accompany him until he reaches the age of fifteen, when he finally manages to grow into a strong and dashing young man. Like his father, he does not have much muscle mass; instead, he is slender and slender, with long legs and broad shoulders. Because of his petite build, he is swift and can climb even the tallest walls and trees. During his early childhood, when he still lived on the Faces island, Baelor was a sweet and lively boy who was always smiling and friendly to everyone. He had a preference for wild animals, which were his only friends. Having had no human contact outside of his parents for many years, the first time he found himself dealing with other people was actually very stressful for him, leading him to hide among his mother’s skirts. However, Baelor, despite his shyness, has always been extremely curious about things he did not know. His personality began to change after his mother’s death; during the months he spent at Harrenhal he became very serious and cautious, careful not to be noticed too much by others. This aspect worsens when he arrives at King’s Landing and begins to be targeted and harassed by the other children of the castle; only after being taken under the wing of Baela, the little Baelor will return to be the smiling child of before. Despite being very solar, Baelor is also very sensitive and perceptive, especially in understanding human feelings; unlike his father who appears to have no empathy for others, Baelor is concerned about everyone, whether they are human beings, animals or even plants. Thanks to his powers, the boy can communicate and listen to the latter and be obeyed by all kinds of creatures, even dragons.
