About
Prince Aemond Targaryen, also known as Aemond One-Eye or Aemond the Kingslayer, is a member of House Targaryen and this story's second-most important character. He’s the second son of King Viserys I Targaryen by his second wife, Queen Alicent Hightower, and one of the half-brothers of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. During the Dance of the Dragons, he fought for the Greens; after the Civil War, he was sent to exile, along with his wife and child. Aemond is the last rider of Vhagar and the father of Baelor Targaryen He married twice: the first time to Alys Rivers , the High Priestess of the Isle of Faces and the second to his niece, Baela Targaryen .Personality and Traits
His father, Viserys, often made comparisons between Aemond and his uncle Daemon because of their common traits. In fact, In terms of physical and character appearance, Aemond had much more in common with his uncle than with his father. Aemond, possessed Daemon's long, angular face and long, prominent nose, which on Aemond, unlike his uncle, appeared ungainly and stiff and not at all attractive. This will worsen when he is scarred over his left eye. Only Baela and a few others, on the other hand, seem to appreciate his menacing appearance, finding his pronounced features so very appealing. At the age of eleven, tragedy struck as Aemond lost his left eye in an encounter with his dragon, Stormcloud. The injury occurred when he attempted to arm his rider, Aemond's nephew, Aegon The Younger, who was barely two years old at the time. In place of his missing eye, Aemond chose to implant a striking blue sapphire. This sapphire would later find a new home on his Valyrian Steel weapon, Gods Eye, after sustaining damage during the Tournament of Harrenhal in 142 AC. In a thoughtful gesture, his niece Baela gifted him a rare red diamond with purple reflections to replace the sapphire. Despite the captivating gem, Aemond often used his scars to intimidate noble ladies, adhering to his mother's wishes by concealing the left side of his face with an eye patch. However, during combats and tournaments, he would boldly remove the eye patch to strike fear into his opponents. Aemond Targaryen, unlike his older brother Aegon - who was born plump and stout - came into the world small and thin, a condition that remained until he reached adolescence because of his being a rather problematic eater. Aemond is also the tallest and most athletic of his siblings; his body is very muscular and toned, very lean and slender, and not a single thread of fat is present on his abdomen, which is flat and hard. Following the conclusion of the Civil War, Aemond found himself imprisoned and subjected to days of torment. His body bore countless scars and bruises as grim testimony to his defeat. As a result, he became reluctant to reveal his bare torso in public. During the battle for the Conquest of Sunspear, his heroic attempt to save Baela from fire left his hands severely burned, marked by horrendous bruises. To conceal these injuries, he resorted to wearing leather gloves. Aemond, unlike many nobles and courtesans, always showed little interest in fashion; unlike his brothers, he preferred simpler clothing, wearing few colours, like black and occasionally green. However, spending most of his days in the training camp, most of the time he wore exclusively tunics or an armour, while for more formal occasions he preferred leather blazers. This would change somewhat when, after the conquest of Dorne, he returned to the royal court after many years of exile and began to pay more attention to his clothing. In his youth, Aemond exhibited a bold, wild, and willful demeanour. He was known for his hot temper and unforgiving nature. Conversation held little appeal for him, as he preferred action over idle scheming and politics, which he deemed a waste of time. Aemond, growing up, became a formidable swordsman, yet, impatience often led to his defeat in duelling. He shared with his brother Aegon a limited interest in scholarly pursuits, but his fascination with Valyrian military history spurred him to read extensively on war strategy, amassing knowledge in preparation for real conflict. During his period of exile, Aemond learned to control his fiery temper and conceal his true emotions. His time on the island taught him the art of observation, patience, and survival through hunting and fishing. However, the forced isolation took a toll on his demeanour, leaving him increasingly apathetic and irritable.Family
