The Council
Most of the day to day business is run by the Olympian Council. This is formed of two representatives from each of the eight octants and three gatewardens for an odd number to avoid ties. The gatewarden’s third vote is considered critical as, despite the relative safety of the city, the gatewardens are responsible for protecting Olympia from the horrors. The council meets twice weekly to settle any matters of city-level import and to take reports from each of the octants on any crucial matters. Importantly, the council members are not solely council members. The task receives a small stipend but all of the Octant members are experts and workers in their own octants. Octant representatives are elected every two years by the workers of that octant.
