Sword of Clouds

When it is fully powered, the Sword of Clouds lights up sun-gold white. It cuts through bone and flesh as easily as clouds. The sword can slash through reality and translocate its wielder to where their hearts desire.

The Sword of Clouds is inspired by the Grass-cutting Sword (Kusanagi no Tsurugi), one of the three relics that make up the Imperial Regalia of Japan. This is the same inspiration behind the sword, mirror, and orb wielded by Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in Sailor Moon. I wanted to include these relics in Solaris as an homage.

The idea of a blade being able to cut through bone as easily as clouds is kind of terrifying, but also kind of awesome. Love the inspiration behind it.

Thank you, I believe it is part of the original lore of the grass cutting sword, but there's so many varied iterations of it in media that unless I go back to the original sources I can't say for sure. I remember reading fables as a teen, and in it was the vorpal sword, which could cut through anything with ease. I think that ended up being part of the DNA of my sword of clouds take.
