Godqueen of Venus
Godqueen of Venus is the title bestowed upon the current Keystone of Venus. The Monarchy of Venus is seperate to the nations of Venus, and have their own sovereign lands. The Venusian monarchy is in an extralegal position, above the common law and jurisdictions. Most Venusian nations honor the Godqueen of Venus as symbolic head of state, although her powers are restricted and determined by their national laws. In practice the Godqueen functions as a representative of Venus as a whole.
When it comes to matters concerning Venus as a whole, the Godqueen takes council from the Venusian Consilium.
Current Holder
The current keystone is Titania, who the palace maintains ascended as keystone several centuries ago.
This is widely regarded to be a lie, but the Godqueen and the institutions surrounding her refuse to acknowledge or entertain questions regarding the matter. A handful of prime ministers have spoken vaguely about baseless and unpatriotic rumours, but no statement has been made from the Godqueen or the monarchy.
The Godqueen of Venus is the only ones to retain the title of Godqueen. Other planets and moons have deliberately avoided it for its association with the tyrannical Keystones of the past. It has often been interpreted as a way of highlighting the supposed longevity of Godqueen Titania.
History
Many modern Venusian nations were once the property of the Godqueen. Collectively known as the Crownland states to this day, these nations are still paying a significant amount of taxes and rent to the Monarchy. Since the reign of Godqueen Arielle, the Godqueens have been served by identical handmaidens. These handmaidens serve as traditional handmaidens, as well as decoys for the Godqueens.| Keystone | ||||
