It wasn't right, there was nothing right about what Cole was planning to use my rings for. I had to stop him, I had to make sure that he couldn't go any further. I didn't want to but I slipped Abraham's ring onto my finger and felt the new powers coursing through me. I just thought about destroying everything in the lab and the lights grew brighter. I raised up my hands and swung them back down and the next thing I new, solid beams of light erupted downward from the fluorescents and demolished all of the computers and file storage in the laboratory. There wasn't much time before security would be notified of the disturbance, I had to get out of there and find somebody to help. My only chance was the police.

Personal history
Alexander grew up in Dustria City during his childhood years. For most of his childhood, he lived happily with both of his parents in the Waterfront District. That was until his parents divorced when he turned 15. His mother ended up with custody of him because his father wanted nothing to do with Alexander anymore.
This revelation came about when Alexander told his parents that he was gay. His mother was instantly supportive without a second thought, but his father henceforth thought of him as an abomination and could not bear to live in the same house as him. Because his mother would not abandon him, his father took his things and left. Prior to his parents’ divorce, Alexander decided that he would attempt to become a world-renowned flautist. He had become extremely skilled by the time the divorce happened. On some evenings when his mother would seem like she had a rough day, Alexander would play some of her favorite songs for her to cheer her up.
Soon he found out that his mother’s income alone would not be able to support the two of them long after Alexander was finished in high school. So he took up studies in various kinds of experimental science. He soon discovered that he had a sort of inherent skill for science and abandoned his dreams of being a flautist to pursue a career in science to support his mother. About halfway through getting his master’s degree, he met the love of his life, Joshua Masse.The two bought an apartment just down the road from the house of Alexander’s mother. Soon after Alexander finished his studies and received his master’s degree, he and Joshua got married. As expected, Alexander’s father was the only guest invited who did not attend.
A couple years down the line, Alexander received his first job as a scientist for Gemstone Industries. As a present for this achievement, Joshua made a pure white lab coat just to commemorate the occasion. The lab coat had a message on the inside of the collar which said “To the bright future you’re destined to bring to this city, Joshua and Mama.”
A few years into working at Gemstone, Alexander received a phone call at work one day. Some sort of anti-LGBT group had attacked his home with explosives. Joshua and his mother were both killed in the explosion. Filled to the brim with grief and rage, he exploded into an episode of fury and absolutely trashed his lab. He did not attend work for at least another two months whilst he grieved and organized the funeral for his deceased mother and husband. Surprisingly enough, Cole Johnson himself attended the funeral.
Afterwards he then offered Alexander a job as the Director of Research and Development for Gemstone Industries. Alexander, now with a renewed fervor essentially drowned himself in his work. After finishing several assigned projects exceptionally, he was entrusted with a top secret research project. Mr. Johnson asked him to find a way to make rings which would grant powers to the wearer. After many long weeks of working with complex theoretical formulas and procedures of Alexander’s design, he was assigned a research assistant. A slightly younger scientist named Abraham Rinard. The two worked countless nights until they finally made a breakthrough. They managed to create a ring which let the wearer change their skin to a biological quartz substance at will. When the duo reported their breakthrough to Mr. Johnson, he praised their hard work and asked of them to create three rings to his specifications. They did as he asked, creating one ring each with a ruby, sapphire, and emerald, in the faces.
Alexander worked on these three while Abraham worked on three rings of his own design. He finished the first two, an iolite and cobalt ring, but while working on the third, a fracture in the gem caused it to burst apart and some of the shrapnel was lodged into his face. Abraham was hospitalized for a number of months and Alexander was left to work alone on the rings. He finished the last one Abraham worked on, being an alexandrite ring. After presenting these to Mr. Johnson, he kept the cobalt one for himself and stowed away the ruby, sapphire, and emerald ones. Alexander was left with the decision of what to do with the other two. He was then asked to create as many of these rings as he could. And that he did. Throughout the course of six months, Alexander created 26 more rings with powers.
Not long after, Mr. Johnson shared with Alexander his grand plan, to release these rings into the population of the city and cleanse the city of crime. This concerned Alexander immensely but he went with the plan long enough to realize that his interests were no longer aligned with Mr. Johnson’s. At the end of one day after an initial seven rings were released, Alexander took the Alexandrite ring which Mr. Johnson let him keep. He placed it on his finger and once the powers activated, he solidified nearby lights into destructive beams and destroyed his lab and the research notes along with it. He then fled from the research facility he worked in and went to the Dustria City Police Department to warn them of Mr. Johnson’s plans.
As fate would have it, he went to the 17th Precinct, where three of their staff members already had these special rings. After ensuring he held no ill intent, Chief Richard Briggs hired Alexander on the spot as an advisor for all powered ring and Gemstone Industries related events. Ever since, Alexander has worked with the Ring Investigation team to track down other individuals with rings and prevent ring-related crimes.
