Well sort of quiet, there's still that constant rumble that comes with being away from the ground. Ever since I got these powers I've been more useful that I've been in a long long time. It feels nice. I still have to be careful though, don't want to attract any unnecessary attention.

Personal history
Neil does not know much about his own past other than that he was born in the February of 1991 and that he is not originally from Dustria City. The farthest back he can remember is in 2012 when he woke up on the shore of a beach in the Waterfront District shortly before losing consciousness again.
A kind old man named Jim Sanders had found him passed out on the beach and brought him back home were his two sons tended to the plentiful wounds he had. When he came to it was discovered that he had amnesia. He had no idea who he was, where he was, or how he got there. Jim and his two sons, Jim Jr. and Nelson, came to the conclusion that the best thing for him was to take him in as one of their own. They gave him the name of Neil and taught him everything they knew about Dustria City and the surrounding area.
After a few weeks Neil joined his adopted brothers working at a construction company started by a family friend. Throughout the course of four years Neil lived a relatively normal life but never seemed to regain his memories. In early 2016, Jim passed away from a stroke, Jim Jr. and Nelson both took a couple weeks leave to sort out the funeral arrangements while Neil kept working. The funeral for Jim was to be held on the mainland, where most of the Sanders family was, and Neil opted out of attending for fear of explaining the whole adoption situation to their actual family. The brothers understood and went on without Neil.
A couple months passed and Neil was more than worried for his brothers since they were so overdue on returning from their trip. Then later that night on the news it was reported that the S.S. Lea had mysteriously returned to port with none of the passengers or crew on board. Only a message on the hull which read, “This sea is ours, -The Zars” The S.S. Lea was the ship which Neil’s brothers went to the mainland on and naturally he assumed the worst.
Neil continued to work but now he worked non-stop. Something about the Sanders’ house seemed to just haunt Neil’s sleep and he refused to return there, opting instead for a hotel closer to his work site. Later yet in the year Neil received a letter from Gemstone Industries inviting him on a tour of their facilities as part of a special line of rings which would soon be released. Neil was one of seven people chosen in the entire city for the tour.
He was hesitant about attending at first but reluctantly decided to attend since it was on his day off anyway. He attended the tour and was gifted with a ring with a piece of Sanyx in the face. When he returned to his hotel that night he couldn’t seem to sleep properly. No matter what he attempted, he kept hearing movement of some sort of rumbling from below the building. He eventually decided to go for a walk in an attempt to tire himself out more but upon reaching the ground floor, the rumbling stopped. He then went back upstairs and it had started again. After numerous rounds of up and down, stopping and starting, he realized that the closer he was to the ground, the quieter it was, so he had his room moved to the ground floor.
The next day he was working high on some tall building and had learned to ignore the rumbling sounds. At some point in the middle of the day, a colleague Neil was working with slipped and began to fall down from the great height they were at, Neil reached out to grab their hand but was too late. Then suddenly a pillar of stone rose from the ground and caught his falling co-worker. All the workers were befuddled by the occurrence but none of them had attempted to connect Neil to it. Neil returned later that night to experiment and found that by focusing and willing it, he could control the ground. Deciding to keep this to himself, he used it sparingly during his construction hours to finish jobs which would otherwise take weeks.
A couple of months passed with him doing this and not being noticed. But one day he was approached on his break by two men claiming to work for the police, one dressed in a black trench coat and the other semi-casual clothes. They introduced themselves as Maurice Williams and Thomas Jones. The two of them were also on the Gemstone tour and received rings which gave them superpowers. They had been investigating Neil and noticed that he had powers as well and wanted him to join them as part of an investigative team for ring-related events. Neil declined their initial offer and while Thomas graciously accepted this, Maurice was less willing to let Neil slide. After a semi-heated discussion between the two men, Neil left before they could finish and hid in his hotel room.
Later that night, while secretly working on the building still, a fog rolled in from nowhere and he was approached by a man with a kind of reflective black skin and glowing yellow eyes. This man also knew about the rings from Gemstone and claimed to have his own, he also offered Neil a position at Gemstone Industries, to which Neil also declined. This man would not take no for an answer though and attacked Neil on the spot. He was able to hold his own until a second man appeared from the mist to double-team him. Before long though, Maurice and Thomas appeared and assisted Neil in fighting the two off. Neil then accepted their job offer as thanks for saving him from the two. Ever since Neil has worked with the investigative team to stop the illegal activities of ring-bearers in the city, such as the two that attacked him.
Neil lies about not remembering his life before Dustria City. He does this for the protection of others. His real name is Eddie Zar, son of infamous pirate leader Eliza Zar. The Zar family is a family of pirates in the West Sea and primarily based on the island of Ebon. When Eddie was born his mother swore that she would do everything in her power to protect him. He did not realize the full scope of which until the first time his father Kelson hit him. When Eliza found out she had Kelson, her own husband, executed in front of the crew of every vessel in the Zar fleet, just to prove a point that nobody could get away with harming Eddie.
Eddie was the youngest of seven with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Each of his siblings captained their own ship in the Zar fleet and caused panic and havoc across the sea. His siblings turned out to be just as dedicated to the protection of Eddie as their mother. His eldest sister, Lane, went so far as to cut out the tongue of her first mate for insulting Eddie.
Around the age of 15 Eddie had enough of this, he was haunted by the memory of all the people killed in the name of protecting him. He abandoned his mother’s ship in the middle of the night and swam to the nearest land he could find, Pirate’s Bay. It was not long before his family found him once more though.
This game of cat and mouse continued for six years until he was found on a Smuggler ship which his youngest older brother, Terrence, found and promptly invaded in an attempt to return Eddie. Eddie abandoned ship during the attack and swam for what seemed like days before he came to land again. He was on the coast of Quatre Isle in a place called Dustria City, and he passed out. When he woke, he was in the company of a nice old man and Eddie came to the decision to lie about being an amnesiac and assume a new identity to throw his family off of his trail. It seems to be working for now.
