Okailu
Okailu is a small but highly sacred island in the Khilaian Isles - the home of Mohomwa Cove, the Selkie Circle of Elders, and the ancient home of the ur-ancestor Daykai.
This island is a mere 10 by 7 miles across, not far off the coast of the larger and more populous island of Motosui. There are very few permanent residents of the island and almost all of them are sworn to lifelong service to the selkie elders. Most of the people here are members of the government - often part the sacred bureaucracy, or the Hanahai, which handles matters of the sacred isles.
Okailu is a pristine landscape of forests, old rock fish farms, gardens, and palaces. The ancient dormant volcano of the island dominates the view and is where the selkie elders perform sacred rituals to connect themselves to their ancestors. Mohomwa Cove, the magical inlet where selkies may undergo the Test of the Depths, is perhaps the most important location here though.
