    The beginning
    Geological / environmental event

In the beginning the world was flooded with water. It was from this water that the first of the great world trees Li'li'kar sprung. Soon after her a second world tree sprung, Li'minar. By their power combined the land was raised from the waters and with it the gods and the elves.

    The rise of Li'sleith
    Geological / environmental event

As the gods cultivated and refined magic a third world tree rose from the waters and strengthened not only the divine connection to magic but also gave the breath of magic to any of the mortal races that lived under her. From this the elves most in tune with magic summoned beings from other planes. These beings, who were already at war with eachother from before being summoned, enslaved the elves in an attempt to win the war and thus taught them both good and evil. In many cases this enslavement led to children of mixed blood, about the same strength as the elves but with unique features from their otherworld parents.

    The rise of Li'gnax
    Geological / environmental event

With the rise of both good and evil the gods soon learned that their powers depended on their faithful and with the otherplaners corrupting the elves they soon lost these. With little way out for the gods, a fourth world tree, Li'gnax, sprouted from the ocean. While it is unknown if this was caused by the gods themselves using all the power they had or simply a lucky timing for them is still debated but the otherplanes soon turned to this world tree as their new battleground. This left most of the elves around Li'sleith, along with those of mixed blood which where too weak to follow their pureblooded breathren no longer part of the war.

    The fall of Li'minar
    Disaster / Destruction

The fall of Li'minar could easily be heard from anywhere in E'ath and while mortals and gods alike soon arrived at the scene it is still hotly debated exactly why the world tree fell. In its new state it was still alive and acerting its power on the surrounding area, but much of its power had been lost and it was mostly submerged in water along with much of the land it had initially raised.

The end of the great war
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

After the war had raged for a few hundreds of years around Li'gnax it suddenly subsided with most of the otherplaners either falling ill, losing strength, or outright dying around the world tree. Scholars are unsure of the exact reason for this but most believe it to be the first show of power from any of the world trees. Following this the war ended and the corpses, too numerous to count, began rotting and creating a foul swamp fused with the magic power these beings once had held. Slowly this swamp began manifesting creatures of wierd shapes and forms. Partly otherworlder partly animal. Today these creatures are the main inhabitants of the swamp along the undeads that roam the land. While scholars believe some of the original otherworlders might still be alive in this swamp it is unlikely that they would have much power anymore due to the pressence of Li'gnax.

    The rise of Li'tenar
    Geological / environmental event

Fifth of the great world trees Li'tenar rose from the sea and with it the great crystals and rocks that today form the crystal peaks. While considerably smaller than the largest world tree Li'li'kar, Li'tenar was gifted the power to create new life and it used this power to fill the mountains with a hardy people that could survive the harsh weather and climate of the northern tip of E'ath. These creatures are today known as dwarves, born from rock and gem.

The creation of the Savage isles
    Geological / environmental event

With the rise of Li'tenar the gods found a patch of land just barely below the surface of the water. While the gods were still weak they saw this as an opportunity to create a species that would be devoted solely to them instead of the world trees that most living things worshipped and lived under. Here none of the trees could truly reach the land and assert their influence and thus the gods once again banded together and raised the savage isles out of the ocean. Here they created many different types of species but perhaps chief among them would be the humans. Short lived due to the limited power of the gods, the humans would still expand from the savage isles and live in all parts of E'ath. Today they are the largest of the sentient species but their limited lifespans prevents them from working together and even in their homeland of the savage isles there are constant wars. Still no matter where they live they are the species most devoted to the gods and with enough faithful to go around even the gods started warring, either because that had been in their nature all along or because they were affected by the humans who had now become their chief source of power.

Founding of the Holy Order of Druids
    Founding

After The Savage Isles were created by the gods many of the inhabitants of E'ath saw this sudden shift as an act of hostility against the world trees. This was felt most by the elven druids of the realm who after formed The Holy Order of Druids.

    The rise of Li'guth
    Geological / environmental event

While several of the other world trees had created dense forest before Li'guth rose from the sea it was only with her rise and connection to another plane that first truly dense forests emerged. These forests soon grew to encompass the entire south western edge of E'ath along with the inhabitants from this new plane. These inhabitants where unlike the previous otherplaner beings in being much smaller and more in tune with the chaotic nature of nature itself. To this day they claim to originate in the 'first world' a term that scholars still debate the truth of.

    Li'sin ar
    Geological / environmental event

The rise of Li'sin ar heralded the beginning of the end of the first age. Because as it rose from the sea so too did a great evil that had been sealed on the seafloor there. Scholars are unsure when this creature was sealed there, for how long, or even what sealed it there. This creature soon began wrecking chaos on E'ath although it seemed to leave Li'sin ar be. Ironically Li'sin ar soon became one of the most peaceful areas of E'ath with the world tree forbidding predators from living there.

  • 2178 AoC

The creation of the great scar
    Era beginning/end

The creature unleashed upon the world with the rise of Li'sin ar terrorized the world and with the gods and great trees seemingly powerless to stop the creature it fell on the mortals to handle it. Many tried and failed before a seemingly unassuming mortal by the name of Bob Goodbody ventured forth to meet it. There are numerous bardic tales of how the battle was fought but perhaps the most obvious result was the final blow needed to slay the demon. This blow split the land in two and created the great scar. So much blood from the creature was spilled in this region that it corrupts the area even today despite efforts by both gods and mortals to contain the corruption. Thus with the creature slain and peace once again restored the second age of E'ath began.

    Aftermath of the Great Evil
    Diplomatic action

After the great evil was defeated E'ath was still devastated and many had nowhere to return to. The Holy Order of Druids were some of the first to organize help and start the rebuilding everywhere and soon so too did the gods and E'ath enjoyed a brief moment of peace.

    Burial of the Great Evil
    Life, Death

In the ten years it took to find the body of the great evil it had already corrupted the ocean around where it was found. As reports came in about this corruption the gods took up arms once again and cleared the way for mortals led by Bob Goodbody to finally put it to rest.

    The Rise of Li'kunar
    Geological / environmental event

Soon after Bob Goodbody was buried on the easternmost edge of the Li'sin Ar Isles another world tree arose just north of it. This world tree was given the name of Li'kunar and the Island's name changed to Kunar Island. Of the world trees Li'kunar raised by far the least land hence its given name of "Kunar" meaning small.   Due to the sudden arrival of a new world tree, many of those who had settled in the area were displaced and this only increased as Li'kunar seemed to dislike anyone being near it, driving out entire communities.

Prophecy of the Release of the Great Evil
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

After the death of the great evil many demi-gods began practicing their powers without the pressure of needing to defend the world. During one such practice, Sigrund Jormkin tried to predict further into the future than she had done before. What she saw was the great evil would once again be released as its tomb would crack. While the gods wanted to silence news of the prophecy, the demi-god did not want that, believing that the mortals had a right to know.

The Gods Dig for the Celestial Column
    Discovery, Exploration

Although the Holy Order of Druids had long since stopped searching for the Celestial Column they quickly learned of the gods' attempts to do so now. This led to a lot of panic that the gods would once again try something big despite what the gods had said they wanted to do and as such the archdruid had to act.

The Holy Order of Druids Take Action Against the Gods
    Diplomatic action

In one of the fastest decisions of the Holy Order of Druids in recorded history, they quickly decided that there must be put a stop to the actions of the god only 2 years after the digging had begun. This action started by having several high-ranking members travel to the Wasteland of Li'minar and personally interfere with the gods.

The Great War of the Second Age Starts
    Military: Battle

As the levels of interference continually escalated the druids soon began in secrecy to sabotage explorers with some reports that some druids had started to outright kill explorers. This claim was hard to confirm as there existed several dangers in the tunnels already but the claim itself raised tensions until eventually, a fight broke out. No one is sure who started it; god, druid, or explorer but it soon enveloped the entire wasteland.

    Battle of the Wasted Lands
    Military: Battle

After the dwarves began settling on Sin Ar Isle other races were quick to follow. Many halflings travelled further east of there and settled on the Island that is now known as The Wasted Lands. With them, the gods followed and while the Holy Order of Druids had been accepting of the dwarves due to their political battle with the gods, they could not accept the gods gaining more followers and power, so they gathered their forces to expel the short-lived races.

Signing of the Treaty of Godly Intervention
    Political event

The battle of the wasted lands had shown the world that gods and mortals should not combat each other or the face of E'ath would be turned into an undead realm. To avoid something like this from happening again there needed to be some rules of engagement and therefore a ceasefire was declared to create such a treaty.

Tensions Flare Between Gods and the Holy Order of Druids
    Political event

Although the Treaty of Godly Intervention had placed great limits on both sides the Holy Order of Druids only took a couple of decades to find loopholes. This became most apparent when they hired privateers to do their bidding around the Wasted Lands

Magic Flourishes in the Savage Isles
    Scientific achievement

Although it only started in the Savage Isles as a way to combat a plague affecting them, the impact of the short-lived races being able to quickly learn magic would soon spread out and change the world.

    Battle of Zemos
    Life, Death

Despite their large political influence and power, the Holy Order of Druids strained themselves beating back the qlippoth in the Inwater Marshes, and thus had lost most of their other battles in the AoW.   When they realized what had happened to Li'minar while they had been otherwise busy they quickly moved to get it under control. However since the effort was led by a god, the Treaty of Godly Intervention made it difficult for them to do much. When this did not work, they broke the treaty and engaged in a battle that ultimately led to the death of Zemos and the creation of the shadow plains, now known as the Soulshade Expanse.

    Discovery of Morgrouth Island
    Discovery, Exploration

As news spread of the discovery of a new world tree, many doubted it at first. This was however quickly quelled when the Holy Order of Druids confirmed the discovery. The world tree had properties that had not been seen on Li'li'kar and was therefore named Li'n Morgrouth, "the strange one". Scholars passionately debate whether this new world tree is an off-shoot of Li'li'kar but many signs point to this not being the case

    Creation of the Soulshade Expanse
    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

After the death of Zemos, many of his followers started constructing a crypt for him. However, as this crypt was nearing completion, the land around it began to change. Shadows grew longer and people grew insane. When the builders realized what was happening, it was already too late and none of them survived the corruption that began spreading from the place where Zemos had died.
