Creation of the Soulshade Expanse

After the death of Zemos, many of his followers started constructing a crypt for him. However, as this crypt was nearing completion, the land around it began to change. Shadows grew longer and people grew insane. When the builders realized what was happening, it was already too late and none of them survived the corruption that began spreading from the place where Zemos had died.

As the corruption began spreading many factions were quick to come to the aid of the Holy Order of Druids in stopping it. None of them succeeded in doing much and the corruption eventually stopped naturally forming the Soulshade Expanse. It is speculated that there was something there before the area became known as the Soulshade Expanse but scholars believe that the corruption erased them from history as well as from existence, leaving no records of what was there before.
