Magic Flourishes in the Savage Isles

Although it only started in the Savage Isles as a way to combat a plague affecting them, the impact of the short-lived races being able to quickly learn magic would soon spread out and change the world.

Although the progress towards developing the field of magic did not make many waves initially with the short-lived races instead using it to combat their own problems, it was quickly recognized and feared by the Holy Order of Druids.   The druids spend a lot of effort in order to limit the new knowledge from spreading throughout the world. Due to the circumstances, this was initially successful although it was only a matter of time before it spread to the rest of the world.
