Merian Sea

Merian Sea is a tumulteous sea on the western face of Namdia known mainly for it's Merfolk kingdoms such as the Kingdom of Meria. It is a vibrant, warm sea with strong limestone deposits and several stretches of coral deposits, lending itself to tourism of Merfolk and other races alike.

Although, the Merian sea is a calm and often pleasant place to reside within during the summer months, the sea is known to get choppy and incredibly unstable during the winter months.

Geography

Merian Sea is a vast ocean on the westernmost face of Namdia, it is a warm, temperate sea with a diverse topology on it's seabed, lending it as a perfect platform for vertical sea-scrapers and advanced Merfolk settlements. Due to the recent volatility in sea level in the area many Merfolk settlements have found that portions of the cities have started to ascend above the water and many merfolk residencies have become uninhabitable as long-term dwellings. This newly vacated housing hasn't gone to waste, though and many folk of other non-amphibian races have chosen to move to these upper levels, creating a new level of mixed society and tourism.

Climate

The Merian Sea is mainly a warm and temperate ocean with a calm air in the summer months, but in the winter months can become turbulent and unstable. The Merian Sea's un-stability has many different effects on it's residents, originally leading to a strong belief in religion although lately has moved stronger towards a sense of necessity in creating and inventing new technologies to temper and ease the environment's affects.

Fauna & Flora

The Merian Sea is host to a wide and varied range of flora and fauna of many different shapes, sizes and colours and make the sea diverse and vibrant, with many different types of coral colonies, from shimmering to shadowy sea-life, and much much more.
