The Slumbering Ponds
The Slumbering Ponds are a set of floating islands that orbit the planet Namia, they are invisible to non-divine or Oristellae and are mostly used as a way to collect and monitor the souls for the planet Namia. For every living soul that exists on the plan there is a subsequent Koi fish that lives in the Slumbering Ponds and the sole caretaker, the Guardian of Hope, Koi is tasked with making sure the balance of emotions and overall wellbeing of the souls are kept in good condition.
With only a singular resident, the ponds are solemn and silent, with only the sounds of space, and the gentle rustling of breeze or frittering of fish fins. The ponds themselves glow with a cold white light, and the overall architecture and palette of the space is pastel to white. The ponds rest on a soft cloud layer, and resemble a pagoda garden or shrine.
Geography
The Slumbering Ponds is an almost-flat set of shallow ponds that float on top of a soft cloud layer. They are shaped like islands but are disconnected from any known landmass and thus they float in space, orbiting around the planet Namia.
There is a flowing set of rivers that run lengthwise across the islands but without a true source they pool infinitely at the ponds at the bottom due to this being a magical reservoir the flow of water never runs out. Celestial representations of the souls of the planet below manifest as spectral Koi fish, to which Koi herself watches over and monitors.
Ecosystem
Not many animals are native to the Slumbering Ponds, as the lands mainly exist to serve the purpose of monitoring the emotional states of the Namians, it is almost perfectly cultivated for that specific purpose with almost no natural ecosystem.
There are several types of trees and flora that bloom around the Slumbering Ponds but they take on a hue close to white, usually with an undertone of the flora's usual colour. The land and flora seem to almost glow softly against the starry backdrops of outer space.
Climate
The Climate can seem slightly cold or chilly to those unaccustomed to it, but to Koi there is no real difference. There is no weather cycle other than the waxing and waning of fluffy clouds, and there is no rain nor snow. The temperature changes slightly depending on whether the island's orbit is or isn't blocked by the planet Namida.
However, since this change is so minor it does not fully register to Koi as a significant change. To her, the region is in a constant state of stability and staleness, which adds to an overwhelming sense of loneliness and isolation and creates a stark difference between the Dreamrealms and the waking realms.
Fauna & Flora
Everything in the Slumbering Ponds is highly curated, chosen specifically by the Ladies of Life and Death themselves to provide a calming and soft atmosphere for Koi (or whichever Oristellae would fill that task) to fulfill their duties within, from the soft dewy glow of the trees to the pruned and perfected flower beds.
There is no real natural life, as nothing can wilt or change within the area, giving it a sense of stability but also a sense of staleness. The fauna consists almost exclusively of the Oristellae caretaker Koi and the spectral Koi that flick and flutter across the waters.
Natural Resources
There is no proper natural resources within the Slumbering Ponds, between the grass, the dirt, the paths, the trees and the flowers, all that exists within the ponds seems to be made of the same semi translucent, glowing pastel material that has been shaped somewhat to appear closer to it's origin look.
History
Originally, the Slumbering Ponds was created as to be an Embassy for travelling Guardians of Hope to check up on and tend to the souls of Namia, but after much strife and squalor the Stewards of the Universe decided that the region needed a full-time caretaker to watch over the place. Koi was created to serve this specific purpose as she was a hopeful and compassionate Oristellae Blubling who had a shy but caring demeanour that felt perfect for what the Ladies of Life and Death needed.
Tourism
When it was originally an Embassy, the site received quite a fair bit of tourism by Oristellae that wanted to see the ponds as they were seen as a marvel of handcrafted places by the Guardian Deities but it was observed that the constant switching of Oristellae caretakers caused disruptions in the souls that were being taken care of, so other than high-level deities and Koi herself, travel to the ponds and staying there is strictly forbidden.
