Schwabhausen Rebellion
The Conflict
Prelude
The Emperors of the House Folly are known for their extreme tax policies to finance a standing army. Extorting money especially from the peasants and the lower nobility causing discontent in the empire. When the leader of House of Schwabhausen accused Holy Emperor of being bribed by the Venecian Merchant Council to not crack down on their smuggling, he was imprisoned by him. Bereft of the tariffs House Schwabhausen relied on, combined with the high taxation and the insult of imprisoning the families head, they raised an army to bring an end to it their selves and attacked the Venecian Merchant Council. Several other houses saw their chance to find some economic relief by plundering the wealthy cities of the merchants council, which prompted the emperor to intervene on the side of the Venecian Merchant Council and escalate the conflict and bring it up to a continent spanning civil war.
