Continuing our space travels :) On the way to Opa. Will we arrive? Or will we be going a bit more? Only we can find out!!
The Crew is in space headed towards Opa on their first intention to track down and learn more about the drug induced virus. What might be laying in wait for them? I guess we will get to find out!!
Completing the race, the group reconvenes to claim the various rewards. But the looming questions remain. Where is Micha, what is being smuggled through the asteroid farms, and what is the deal with the rest of the crew??
This is the race. The primary factor in deciding who rules this planet, who gets to decide the rules for well being on this planet. And potentially who can aide the crew if needed. Not all who enter are trying to win. Some are just trying to prove they are worth looking at. Some are just trying not to die. Some........well some have more nefarious goals.
Upon a short trip with Sid and acquiring a new map with Clancey, Caroline and Kosmos head off to find Verve, who sent the group a message to meet him near the center of the city. The main city on this planet is home to many races, but the Lyrial run it--the water genasi clan. The other genasi clans help maintain other areas, the Earth tend to stay in the mountains and massive pits mining the magnetic ore, they are known as the Lycha clan after the common moss that grows underground. The air genasi tend to the sky, keeping it clear, but providing much needed cloud cover when needed. They are known as Lye. Then there is the Fire Genasi, the protectors of the borders to the watering hole. This clan is known as the Shenarai. Time draws near for the competition for rulers, and it seems there might be a plan for how to go about acquiring the vehicles, and for somewhat of a idea...maybe...to help in the political scene.
Upon arrival, you all headed off the ship and ran into Sid, a bounty hunter who claims to be a resident of a planet long since destroyed by a black hole. He has been tasked to aquire an individual named Geralt for his boss. He also said he'd followed them from Jugart. Oddly, he has not really revealed much about his motives, and the crew agreed to help him get this individual. As it is Verve's home planet, he leads them into the city, towards the hospital district, and while the majority of the crew stop to get food with Sid, Verve wandered off from a call. Curious, Koal had followed, and saw Verve visit a gravesite. Keeping his distance, he watched Verve get a call that seemed rather urgent and rushed off. Koal followed a bit behind. We return to the group in the bar.
After defeating the Kaorti and their Husk spawn the crew was paid and heads to Ieopia to follow through on Harley's promise.
The crew, guided by Yulia has arrived to the Forest to deliver medicine. But what will befall them as they experience some of the horrors they have only seen remnants of ... what will be left? What will they decide as their course of action?
Deciding to forego the festivities of the festival of Lyte, the group heads to Odds and Ends after replaying the memories they are able to see in the Memory Machine. They take two days of travel to reach The Busk on the backs of Glorauki. The city is carved into the mountain side, stone everywhere. All the people upon landing wear a grey cloak to camouflage them from eyes above. What will come next? Other than being sad they don't get to attend a fabulous festival for one of their own's god?
After following and reeling from the fight the group had helping (?) the kids escape with the blue horned individual, they make their way back to Kova's with intent to try out the machine that Koal and Verve fixed.
The crew spent time repairing the Replay device, which had a real number done to it, and tracking down who sent them the message for medicine. They got information from Reshi that it was Ero, some Forest dweller, and upon exiting they saw a small group in green cloaks heading to a different shop, labeled Odds & Ends. Upon gaining entry, with a previous relation between the shop owner Belial and Jonathan, they found out that this shop was a checkpoint on an underground railroad to help smuggle out kids and potentially others in danger to safety in the Busk. They were told that they could meet Geea at this shop the next day, and potentially join those on the railroad to the Busk to gain information about where to find Ero , and ultimately get paid.
The party were granted invitation to stay in the most expensive property in Hulrai -- the home of the leaders of all the groups in the Desert, after having been unofficially hired to help pinpoint who or what was the murderer of Kova's parents. Having discovered their bodies and some black stuff in their wing of the house, the group splits for the evening to take a rest. When the morning comes, what will it bring?? Is the black stuff alive?? Dead?? Dormant?? What even is it??
The crew, now being fed have wandered into the streets of Hul'rai as some of the festivities have begun. To the majority, the celebration is something they have never seen or experienced before, and the colors flash in a neat firey way. The day is still young, and most of those in the square seem to be children with their watchers, but it is a joyous energy. The group has approached Kova, a pale grey-white haired girl with striking purple eyes following Verve's lead as he seems to know her, and have a point to the conversation. Trusting that this will help them on their mission here, the group follow. What is the history of these two? or even the devilish man in the resturaunt? but even more importantly: Who hired them--and how do they get paid?
After taking a long nap on board the Icarus, and with a new companion, the crew arrives to Jugart, with all intentions to deliver the medicine, get paid and then head to Ioepia. Though smaller and more unassuming than the other planets of this sytem, the cloud structure, and the climate starts to sound appealing. After all any crew is typically made up of planet bound folk.
With the crew finding some sort of rest, after having been attacked and dealing with the black-ooze-like creatures the crew does a little bit of bonding, where Najda and Clancey make breakfast for the crew with a little help. The day passes with little to report, and this continues for the next few days, where the crew starts to learn and make some headway on learning their place on the ship. It is on the 6th day that Verve and Alaric are alerted to a rogue signal coming from a field of space rock. Deciding to pursue the signal out of idle curiosity and potential scavenging this far past the main parts of the UPS and YE, Harley agrees to the diversion as it should not put the crew behind on schedule and there should not be an issue with gas. We rejoin the crew as they are going to be alerted by Verve of the diversion to the signal.
The conclusion of the clank heard from the middle deck. And the coming days until the 3 month sleep. What else will be encountered?
The crew, both old and new have just made it aboard the Icarus, having run from some winged folks who seem to have been chasing Clancey and Zere. Having been used to needing to make quick exits, it is just a hope that the cargo needed for the next leg of the journey was loaded onto the ship in the time it took for shit to hit the fan. We will enter the session where we left, with the crew just arriving on board with intent to leave Gutarith.
Colorful and clustered the Bazarr of Gutarith is located in the belt, about at the midway point between the border of the two empires and the Torus Asteroid belt, where on one of the larger asteroids lives the space Martial Academy. The planet itself is a dense jungle with many unknown dangers and only a few open areas of land next to cliffs are the inhabited areas on this planet where humanoids who are generally neutral towards outsiders live. It is one of these shelves that is larger that the main Bazar of Gutarith is located on. Arrival to this Bazar could mean a few things: 1) You are looking for a fresh start, and a way to earn coin. Locally or Exploratory, many folks pass through looking to be hired. 2) You are buying something that is seen as less than legal 3) You are here to make a deal but needed mutual ground 4) You are on the run, and are looking to escape 5) You live here, and more possibilities I am sure. But the first ones that pop into most people's heads are the above. If you are not associated with the GSE Icarus at the start of the campaign, you have seen an ad looking for crew with a promise of good pay for services rendered. The meeting place for the ad is on the south east side of the main Bazar area, which is odd, as most ships park north and west. Meeting new members of the crew and restocking for the journey ahead, or answering the ad for any number of different reasons, we will start our story in the main Bazar at Gutarith. :) Also please be willing to take a few minutes in the email or document you send me to tell me the connections if any to GSE Icarus you have, or why your character is here, it will be important to the start of this session. If you have thoughts about character backstories, PLEASE send them to, or share them with [email protected] before session 0. I like to weave stories, so I am looking for fuel.
Getting told the price earned would be doubled and with their own personal motivations, the crew heads out with 6 deathcrest ape companions to go try and eradicate the Kaorti from Jugart. This session is the encounter and will be hosted on Roll20, link provided in discord.
