Mental characteristics

Personal history

Grew up being told he was kinda the "chosen one" His grandfather helped him have a huge desire to explore He was a bit, pampered. well, as much as you can be on such a poor planet. He was kinda set in his ways. When he joined the academy with his Partner, he felt so small. He made friends quickly and easily, but soon realized most of them were not the kind of people he wanted to associate with. He grew more concerned and critical until the heist, which failed. He was, as far as he knows, the only one that made it out. He was happy to join the Icarus, but he also had to adjust to the crew personalities and such. He is trying to figure out what he believes and who he is, but mostly he wants to be a good person

the harsh reality of how large the universe is, and how cruel most people are

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Motivation: initially, missionary work. This affects attitude. He thinks himself a bit of a savior. But he's been a bit humbled. He's realized how bad the galaxy is, how little he knew ~ and he couldn't save his companion. He truly has good intentions, and since joining the Icarus crew, with such a demanding takes-no-shits captain, his personality has calmed and he's learned to one things down a bit.   Voice: male? Vocabulary: a bit more formal than expected, but due to the academy and icarus, he's learning to become more causal.

Virtues & Personality perks

Somewhat sappy ig, but he tries his best to communicate with home. He's desperate to go back and find out if his family is okay (they're not). Whenever he lands, he tries to send a letter home (or space equivalent).

Notes from Grav

Space Martial Archetype: Level 3: Shadow Step. Once per short rest, you can cast the spell misty step. Lightspeed Strikes. When taking the attack action, if you make an Unarmed Strike, you can immediately make an additional Unarmed Strike as a free action Level 6: Grav-Training. Your superior knowledge of gravity and its effects, make it so that you have an additional 10 feet, and move normally in low or no gravity situations. You may spend a spend a ki point to increase your speed but 10ft for 1 min. This effect can be stacked. Your unarmed strikes become more powerful and are force dmg and have a range of 15/30 as space radiation flows through your body Unarmed Strikes go up a die size. Level 11: Your ability to react in space has become second nature, allowing you to use it in a split-second reactions. When you are hit by a melee attack, you can immediately use your reaction and spend 1 ki point to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5, taking no damage from the triggering attack. As part of the same reaction, you can then make 1 melee attack against your attacker. Level 17: Sun Soul You may harness the powers of a sun once per long rest. For one minute, or until you go supernova, your unarmed attacks deal 4d6 extra radiant damage, you have a reach of 15ft, and after each successful hit, the creature must make a dc18 con save or take 2d6 thunder damage and be stunned, on save, they take half the dmg and are not stunned. At any point using the Sun Soul feature, you may use your action to go "SUPERNOVA" channelling a blast of energy forward, in a 10ft wide, 150ft long line or a 35ft circle centered on you, dealing 20d8 radiant dmg to each creature that fails a DC 20 con saving throw, and blinding them for 1d4 minutes a successfully save is half dmg, and no blindness. If you reach the end of your 10 turns without using the supernova feat the blast automatically goes off in the 35ft circle, and you fail your saving throw.                 JUGART:   In years long ago, Jugart was full of lush plainsm and vast ore rich deserts. It was home to many a tribe of herdsman, herding all types of beast, from Glorauki, to Drakow. The lush landscape of the planet was riddled with large lakes and rivers, but no oceans. All the land was connected, and the people therein were too, no matter how much it irked some. Mainly consisting of 3 biomes, desert, lowflat green plains and rainforest-like woods, the land provided well for the people.   The Drakow (or "dragon Cow") is desert livestock - a large bison-like creature with horns and scaled skin it sheds every year. The creatures' milk, skin and meat are utilized extensively by various desert farmer communities, and their hooves and horns are use in durable concrete and glass recipes developed by the people of the desert capital Hulrai.   The Glorauki are a type of bird that were used to hunt other creatures in the lush green wildlands by the Buskers, the people of Busk. Once they reached an elderly state and were slower, their feathers were used for clothing, their bones for tools, and sometimes as support beams for structures, and their rough hide as roofing to protect against harsh elements.   As a missionary for Lyte, in your early days before being sent to the Space Martial Academy, your grandfather sent you to this planet, one close enough that letters would be received fairly regularly by your parents. You met a lot of the people on the planet, and grew to understand a few things.   Those in Hulrai (Hull-r-eye) were the technologists. A lot of trade and hired artificers were to be found here, working alongside those of more arcane talents to develop and gain advantage in the wars fought amongst each other. They are also the civilization that knew about the places beyond their own ground that they walk on. They have deep respect for the sun and the power it brings, and even though they might not have been very devout, a lot of followers were found by you here.   In Hulrai, you know the main leadership (at least who was the leadership) and you know the best shops and places to go for food, drink, and stay. You also have a good grasp on the streets as those are carved once and do not change, just expand up or out.   In traveling outside of the desert that was familiar to you as Ioepia (eye-oh-pea-ah) was desert, you were met with a lot of firsts, green coloring to the landscape being a major new thing. In the plains, you encountered many creatures, Gisha (gee-sha) a cross breeding of lions and displacer beasts, Fraong (fr-ow-nig) large toads, and of course the Glorauki (Glor-aw-ki). The people however, were more standoff-ish and less inviting. They didn't seem to take kindly to your fiery ancestry. And thus you moved on really quickly. You do not have much connection to any of the herdsman of the plains.   In the jungle portion of your stay on Jugart, you met the druidic folk, who lived as one with the species of the forests, and uncomfortably/comfortably (you can decide ;) ) were able to share in their way of living. You gained no followers here, as most worshiped earth and life, but not any one god over another. You met a lot of animal species here, not knowing if all were druids, or a mixture of druids and animals. You also met a group of Deathcrest Apes, which was a small group of maybe 3, with a single druid living among them as an equal. You met all of the druids, and did enjoy your time in the forest, learning to control your flame, to be among the green and not harm it, and other ways of druidic craft to be more one with nature. (Your grandfather was none to pleased to hear how long you spent here, but you have nothing but love for these folk).   Shortly after you were called home to Ioepia.       IOEPIA: (eye-oh-pee-ah) I am going to let you help with this one in game with improv stuffs. But I will put the basics of the setting here when I have time with important figures of the different areas, and I might include a very barebones basic map for you here as well. We will see what I end up having motivation to do, but I want you to help too. :) so most of this world will be heavy on suggestions beyond the description of some of the people and basic setting features. :)   THE BASICS: This planet is a desert planet. There is one central watering hole/lake where there is lots of plant life, and there are straight column like mountains, full of green. This lake somehow always stays full, and has many rivers that run off from it out of this central location (I say its the center as the life and people on the planet get denser in populace the closer to the lake you get to). As you travel away from the lake, the Ioe (the eye) of the planet the life dies away and you are left with desolate barren desert.   There are above ground Magnetic Trains (MagniTransit) that go from the main lake to the outskirts, and even some places require renting local beasts of burden to get to the civilizations. The planet's main claim to fame is all the magnetic advancements they have made. (prime example is the boots you wear. Those were invented and originally came from Ioepia).   THE SOCIAL GROUPS/CLANS/TRIBES:     THE TECHNOLOGY:     THE RELIGION:     THE PEOPLE OF NOTE:       Information will be dumped here as it becomes relevant and I have time to write up some of the stuff in my brain.       https://www.worldanvil.com/w/gse-icarus-gravitypro/a/classes3A-the-options2C-the-perks2C-and-the-quirks-article
