S1 Session V: The Mansion Report

General Summary

The crew finds Kova where they are led to the mansion where the rulers of the Desert Clans reside. She leads you into her sitting room with a lot of notes on glass boards are up around the space. She tells you about how she was gone for a really long time (30 years) and has only just returned to this planet when she got word that her parents were even more reclusive than normal. Out of respect and her upbringing she did not impose on her parents and just took over the responsibilities of the ruling individual. In preparation for the Coming of the Sun Festival, she has been very busy, but wants help to assertain what might have happened with Enna and Quill -- her parents. She also provides insight to the crew that they should visit the Sender at the Mail Post named Reshi about the communication that they recieved in order to figure out where they need to go, to deliver the goods, and get paid.     In investigating the parental dissapearance Kova gifted the party with a master key to the house, to commence investigations, starting on her parents side of the house. In the Parents wing, they find that there is a weird wallpaper over the sandstone with bumps that smells like rot. When pulling it back they are led to 2 rooms, the first is Enna's bedroom, where they stumble over her corpse, invisible on the ground, and find a crumpled paper written in purple ink in some language none of them know (Quori). They also see that Enna has a necklace of bright white beads like pearls around her neck, which do rattle and fly off of the neck into a jar on the vanity table near the window (where the paper was found) joining many others like it. They find blood on the window sill, and Caroline spots a thin tendril of the black stuff that creeps up a pipe into the house through the window, and only once in the hall does it branch out under the wall paper. The crew discovers Quills body in the board room, (or assumed to be him) and manage to get through to Kova telling her to get home ASAP.   The black stuff is seemingly inactive, and just there. Kova arrives and they tell her Enna is dead, and she dispels magic revealing the corpse of Enna and Quill. She grabs the jar, not giving a second glance at her mother, and then is told Quill is in the board room and she goes and snatches his blue pearl bracelet as the pearls begin to rattle. Once on her wrist she turns to address the group, but htey ask her if she has encountered the black stuff before, and she says no. Then there is little discussion brefore Caroline, Koal and Kosmos head upstairs to the quarters they are allowed to stay in whilst here in Hulrai. Verve follows after Kova, and if anyone cares, they saw Jonathan headed towards the kitchen.     We will resume with the conversation with Verve and Kova, and Jonathan and the voice in his head first thing next session where hopefully a long rest will follow. :)
