True Dragons

True dragons have a colossal reptilian form, vibrant scales all around their bodies, a set of large wings on their backs, as well as long necks & tails. The brain of a true dragon is wired differently than mortals often making them believe that they are above mortals, another gland in their brain affected their sense of morality by their scale color though this gland died out in all dragons since the dragon war on zodia. The brain of a dragon is also the cause of its many powerful emotions most famously their rage.   Dragons have sharp jagged claws & teeth capable of slicing through stone and metal. Dragon's typically have some type of sac or gland in their throats enabling the use of their famous technique breath weapons blasts of devastating power coming from their mouths typically elemental power like fire, ice, or lightning but other true dragons are capable of poison, acid, light, as well as breath weapons that aren't elemental like sleep, euphoria, or repulsion.   A dragon's flesh & soul is imbued with magic giving it many properties unique to the subtype of dragon, this is granted to them by their hearts also called mystions. Mystions also called a dragon's heart is the source of its immense magical power, granting them their unique properties and the natural affinity for draconic sorcery, it's also the source of its ability to alter it's lair with magic to their own grand design, this with their immense size and power is the reason for their ability to induce fear or awe into others in their presence. A dragon's heart however will cause a strange phenomenon upon the dragon's death called "Draconic Grave" when they perish the mystion causes an explosion of draconic magic that leaves it's area saturated in it's magical power making areas named after the same phenomena that made it, this can be stopped if the heart is separated from its body this stops the chain reaction of the body detonating.

True dragons have many biological traits that make them gods among men, their physical capabilities like strength, durability, & speed are superhuman. Their sheer size and pose makes them very charismatic, being able to exude an aura of fear or awe in a large area around them. Dragons are immortal in the sense that age won't affect them after they reach elder status; they can only be killed by someone stronger & these creatures are immune to mortal diseases and ailments.   The unique morphology of the draconic brain makes them immune to mental manipulation via magic they can't be made to feel fear, or any other emotion, they also can't have their will subverted except by special circumstances like the call of their creator although ever since the end of the dragon war on zodia this no longer works on any dragon. True dragons can subvert the will of kobolds through a gland in their brain interacting with a gland in their brains rewriting their will to work for the dragon only ending when the dragon wills it or dies.   Dragons are immensely powerful sorcerers being imbued with powerful arcane magic via their hearts. True dragons can innately cast sorcery spells without the required incantations & materials a mortal may require although this is a skill that gets better as they age. While there are no actual restrictions to spells a true dragon can do spells aligned with their scales easier for example a dread dragon is better at fire spells & a forest dragon is better with poison spells.   Dragons require a lot of nutrients to keep their powerful bodies going and most of the time simply eating prey isn't enough to sustain them so dragons have the ability to passively siphon nutrients from magic itself. This magic comes from their own spirit reserves so they would like to avoid it. True Dragons have powerful souls and therefore immense spirit reserves than the average mortal and they can manifest multiple miracles up to 3 total. These creatures are immune to the element they are attuned to for example a skull dragon can't be hurt by acid & a dread dragon can't be hurt by fire. The main ability of a dragon is their roar, also called their breath weapons, the specific of the roar depending on the specific dragon, dread dragons have a flame breath, & frost dragons have an icy breath.

Dragon's reproduce sexually making clusters of eggs that take time to hatch depending on the specific type of dragon.

Dragons grow at a slow rate. Their wyrmlings take a few weeks to be able to speak and fly. After 200 years they grow into young dragons, they become adult dragons at the age of 400, they become ancient at the age of 800, & an elder at the age of 1,000. Dragon's have incredibly strong souls like celestials giving them higher spirit reserves that grow with each stage and multiple miracles however the first miracle won't manifest until they are young dragons and their first miracle will always be the manipulation of the element their scales correlate with for example a skull dragon will always manifest acidokinesis as their first miracle, and a frost dragon will always manifest cryokinesis as their first miracle. A dragon's second miracle will manifest once they're an adult and the third when they are ancient, once they become an elder dragon however their spirit reserves become higher than angels and their spirit regeneration is increased to obscene levels.

True Dragon Subtypes

There are 3 groups of true dragons distinguished by the style of their scales: the corro dragons, ashla dragons, & tao dragons.

Corro Dragons

These are the first of the true dragons born from the essence of the precursor dragons. These dragons were evil, greedy, malevolent, & predatory and preyed on people for eons. They have basic colored scales red, green, blue, white, black, yellow, ect. These dragons' genes would eventually dilute into the ashla dragons & the tao dragons.

Ashla Dragons

One of the newer groups of true dragons born from the dilution of the corro dragons genes. Ashla dragons are good natured, being kind to mortals and even aiding them in some circumstances. These dragons have scales reminiscent of various metals gold, silver, brass, bronze, copper, mercury, steel, iron, cobalt, ect. These dragons while having an elemental breath weapon they also have a secondary breath weapon that uses other things like sleep, euphoria, or repulsion. Ashla dragons have the innate ability to shapeshift themselves into other forms like an animal or a mortal.

Tao Dragons

Tao Dragons are one of the newer groups of true dragons born from the dilution of the corro dragon genome. Instead of being forced to be good or evil tao dragons are neutral dragons remaining in a middle ground on morality keeping to themselves. Tao dragons are recognized by how their scales mimic a crystalline substance like sapphire, emerald, topaz, diamond, ruby, ect. Like ashla dragons tao dragons have 2 breath weapons they can use at will.

A true dragon's dietary needs grow as it ages then becoming less and less after that, an evolutionary trait allowing a dragon to remain in its territory because its prey is still around. Wyrmlings need up to 50lbs. of food a week, a young dragon needs 200lbs. of food a week, adult dragons need 500lbs. of food a month. Once a dragon gets to its ancient stage it needs 1,000lbs. every 6 months & an elder dragon needs 5,000 lbs. of food a year. The specific food a true dragon eats depends on the specific subrace.

True dragons regardless of their clan are very prideful and arrogant beings. Beyond the arrogance of the dragon brain their behavior can vary although many do get minions from other lifeforms.

Nearly everything about dragons is powerful and useful due to their magical properties. Dragon Graves are used by struggling mortals who want to attain draconic sorcery, dragon hearts are used for a multitude of magical purposes, their flesh, bones, and claws are useful as well. Dragon eggs sell for thousands of gold as well as dragon's blood.

True dragons primarily live on the hypergiant planet of Draconia, although some of them live on other planets like Zodia, Midgard, Avalon, ect.

True dragons are fully sentient although their intelligence depends on the subrace. For example forest dragons are among the most intelligent dragons, dread dragons are incredibly intelligent but not at the same level as forest dragons, & frost dragons are among the dumbest true dragons.

Dragon's have enhanced senses of sight, hearing, & smell although their eyes are so strong that they can see through darkness and magical illusions.

Mortals

• Races of people of various shapes and abilities some mortals are simply food or entertainment for a dragon. Sometimes mortals are minions & cultists of true dragons

Kobolds

• A failed experiment to make powerful draconic warriors, this failure resulted in their stature, physical and magical power as well as their intelligence. Despite their failures dragons use their special gland in their brains to subvert the will of kobolds in a way that makes them willingly worship and work for the dragon and Kobolds manage to prove their worth to the wyrms. All dragons can control a kobold this manner though ashla & tao dragons refuse to use this trait.

The Corro Court

The group of original true dragons that fought the other two dragon sides during the Dragon War led by the Dread Dragons. The Corro Court was responsible for billions of deaths, some mortal other dragons being the most hated and feared types of dragons in the cosmos.

Order Of Corro

A group of mortals 800,000 strong under the thumb of the Corro Court taught in the art of dragon slaying. The order of corru was responsible for many, many deaths but rebelled against their masters when the tao dragons & ashla dragons offered them freedom if they turned their arms to the evil dragons.

The Ashla Court

The group of dragons born from the genes from the corro dragons is one of the powerful groups in the dragon war. The Ashla Court was responsible for the betterment of their kind and rescuing other mortals & kobolds during the Dragon War.

Order Of Ashla

A group of mortals that worked with the ashla court during the dragon war. The order of ashla were virtuous dragonslaying paladins using equipment they learned about from the ambyrnions. The order of ashla remained on the planet of draconia to protect the order their masters made but were eventually slain by mephiles.

The Tao Court

The group of dragons born from the gene dilution of the corro dragons bearing crystalline scales and psionic power. The Tao Court fought alongside the ashla court to defeat the corro court. The tao court remains a neutral force in draconia never setting foot on other planets.

Order Of Tao

An order of mortal dragonslaying paladins who were made in the dragon war tired of the corro dragons' reign bonded with them to gain power. The order of tao fought with immense power, magic, & psionic might so much it worried the ashla court. The order of tao left the planet of draconia once they won the war but had their power revoked though it could be seen in future generations in sorcery.

House Ashido

A noble house controlled by the corro dragon hero nastrolog after venea stepped down. House Ashido became a family of dragonslayers keeping order on draconia after the orders of the dragon war died out.

Dragon technology is incredibly primitive using their magic, power, and charisma to get what they want. They could use their essence, blood, and soul to forge powerful magic items and artifacts.

Dragons speak the sacred exotic language known as draconic language consisting of roars & growls.

Dragons despite being intelligent don't bother with clothing in their true form but wear whatever they want in mortal form.

The true dragons were born from the essence of the precursor dragons that were slain on divonis reborn on the hypergiant planet of draconia let to grow and evolve under mephiles watch as they grow and remain protective. For hundreds of thousands of years the true dragons were worshiping their creator and dominating other worlds under his rule.   As hundreds of thousands of years went by the corro dragons genes where diluted making dragons who were not bond to evil the ashla dragons & the tao dragons refuse to bend to the corro dragons or let them torment mortals sparking the "Dragon War" as the dragons of draconia and other planets fought each other to the death for centuries on their home planet, mortals where roped into the war learning skills and forging weapons great for killing true dragons. The war got so bad that it split the continent of their planets into 3 continents and the three groups of dragons ended the fighting via a pact to remain in their land a special seal made by the tao dragons & the ashla dragons kept it going by barring the corro dragons to their land. The true dragons have remained in relative peace ever since on draconia but on other planets they will fight if they have too.

Mephiles, The Father Of Dragons

Mephiles is the first dragon to exist bearing divine power which grew and evolved even before draconia was around. Through the essence of his first breed of dragons came the corro dragons, his favorite dragons as they were all bound to his will and were the prime example of a true dragon.

Uraya, The Dread Queen

One of the strongest corro dragons on draconia through her is a dread dragon who gained immense divine power from mephiles for her love and devotion to him. She was the mother of balagos & nurvareem raising her children in the ways of conquest, war, and domination. Despite her immense power she was killed in the dragon war by Tantal & Morytha taking away the strongest one of the corro court & driving out her children.

Tantal, The Aurum King

The strongest ashla dragon in the ashla court, his golden scales and golden flames laid waste to many corro dragons in the war. Tantal was beloved by all of his people and the mortals who worked under him; his light and fire were a source of warmth and vigor for those in ashla.

Morytha, The Adam Queen

The strongest tao dragon in the tao court, her diamond scales could block any attack, light was reflected and magnified by her diamond scales as she weaponized light on the battlefield. Her photon beam pierced the hearts of many dragons in the war and is what dealt in Uraya although she was left in a crippled state. Other tao dragons try to aid her but she remains locked away in her crystal spire.

Venea Ashido, The Dragon Witch

A human of avalonian descent obsessed with the power and longevity of dragons through conversing with the ashla & tao court she gained what she needed to become ageless aided both courts during the war.

Stereotypes Many people thought that dragon's eat people and treasure. In actuality some dragons usually dread dragons eating people and no dragon eats treasure they simply hoard it.
