Steel Mountains
The steel mountains are a supermassive magnetic biome found in the Northern Hemisphere of Venviri. It is a series of highly magnetic mountains all morphed into a super mountain range, stretching many thousands of miles. Entire mountains repel or attract one another, constantly switching their magnetic fields. As a result the land is completely unstable and impossible to traverse safely.
The region is the home of the Elisian Kingdom, a land terraformed to suit the needs of Elis Episiol, the sole owner and self-appointed Supreme Architect of Venviri. This massive terraforming project currently spans more than fifty five square kilometres, with an artificial atmosphere to allow Elis to breathe comfortably without an apparatus.
Geography, & Location & Climate
The steel mountains are a shimmering blue and purple, with dashes of pink and white. Massive slices of rock fan out from a single point, magnetically attracting and opposing one another causing giant fragments to smash into one another.
No magnetic fields are going to stop me from building a world for me to rule. I want my kingdom in these mountains, and I will build it here no matter what.
New mountains form as quickly as they fall, in a matter of hours. Only a few untouched mountains exist, achieving a form of magnetic equlibrium. No other mountain can get close, as they are all attracted to and oppose it.
The atmosphere in the region is toxic, with a high amount of metallic poisoning in the water, ground, and air. Some lifeforms seem to thrive around this poisoning which has only magnified in recent years.
Aside from the occasional pocket of magnetic flora, the steel mountains are practically void of life. Few creatures wander these barren landscapes, including sludgeworms, creatures that survive on typically toxic minerals.
Ecology
Few creatures can tolerate the ever-shifting environments. Many are skilled fliers, able to dodge and weave levitating rocks flung around from the magnetic fields.
Sludgeworms are not one of these creatures. Instead they shuffle along the ground, siphoning any nutrient they can from the soil and the air, using soft filters protruding from their shell, and hard mandibles to dig up the ground.
Other creatures use similar methods of feeding, particularly filter feeding from the atmosphere. Aeroplankton is the basis of most food webs on Venviri, abundant thanks to many species of giant fungi and coral that release tiny spores into the atmosphere.

MAGNETS, HOW DO THEY WORK? This is an amazing article!! I want to see a mountain move. I wonder if a little magnet would be enough to induce a force that would eventually set a mountain top in motion, if it's that unstable?
