Aposteus Strand

The Aposteus Strand is a small solar system in the Lesser Field of the Milky Way. Three planets orbit Pera, a red giant. Lilapi and Glacia are owned by Jupiter, while Apotei remains under control of its native people.

The solar system takes its name after the leyline cutting through Pera. A magical presence resonates through the solar system and can be felt on every planet.

Planets

Apotei

5 Moons
1 AU from Pera

This blue gas giant is the largest planet in the Aposteus Strand, over a thousand times the size of Lilapi. Its outer surface is a dark blue, with vivid teal aurorae in the Northern Hemisphere.

Apotei is inhabited be highly adapted winged beasts. They hop from island to island, navigating an almost perpetual darkness caused by the atmosphere reflecting 99% of light from Pera.

Ascila orbits Apotei. This research station is owned by the JSC, or the Jovian Scientific Conglomeration. Researchers within Ascila study the lifeforms and sophonts of Apotei from afar using advanced robotics. The electric blue lights of this research station can be seen from the tram lines wrapping around Apotei, tunneling through the gas giant's thick clouds.

Moons

Merezen

After the extinction of its peoples, Merezen is now a wasteland. A toxic snow rains down from the clouds.

Mzian

Clouds conceal the muddy wetlands on Mzian. This moon is inhabited by thousands of vibrant bird species.

Anoy

Pillars of a hydrophobic rock hold up a thick layer of mist. Underneath is a vast expanse of holes, tunnels, and caves.

Atala

Atala distributes goods to different colonies around the solar system. Jovian corporations have stripped this moon of resources, and turned it into an urbanscape.

Psinta

If it wasn't for the voracious, predatory whales that wander this tropical moon, Psinta would have become the industrial capital of the solar system.

Lilapi

2 Moons
4.5 AU from Pera

Lilapi's atmosphere is dense with a purple fog. Its pink islands are inhabited by delightfully curious felines, with the strongest bite force of any animal on the planet.

Lilapi cats are the same size as a jovian, and have made great pets for the people. They are intelligent, loyal, and love a cuddle.

This planet doesn't have a permanent population as jovians find the atmosphere toxic. Scientists observe the planet from within heavily protected research stations.

Moons

Ignotta

This mineral rich moon is tidally locked to Lilapi. The dark side of Ignotta is packed with veins of hedsonite, lapillite and gold.
The moon had been mostly picked clean of its resources long before jovians discovered it.

Privilis

Privilis is large enough to have formed its own rings. These rings were once the home of a small civilisation that died out around a thousand years ago.
It seems this civilisation had studied the magical atmosphere of the Strand, and its mysteries.

Glacia

0 Moons
7.9 AU from Pera

Glacia is covered in miles of thick ice and compressed snow, besides the North Pole, where extreme volcanic activity has melted its surface.

A subspecies of icebreaker live across the globe. They can breathe air and water, and migrate to the steaming waters of the North Pole to breed.

The Strand's leyline has elevated the presence of ice magic on Glacia. As a result inanimals have grown very powerful, dominating most ecosystems.

Where can I read more about those predatory whales? The way you structured this article is a great inspiration for Nova Gaia, because I guess I will have to write an article for Delta Pavonis, but as not much is known about it, such an overview would be great.
