Milky Way

The Milky Way is the largest galaxy in District 2 of Aavar's River. The galaxy is home to some of the most well known solar systems in the entire Yonderverse, such as the Kurhira, Cheem and Sol Systems.

The Milky Way was the birthplace of intelligence in the Yonderverse. The very first intelligent species evolved in scattered planets in the Perseus Arm.

Milky Way

Galactic Centre

The Galactic Centre of the Milky Way is a black hole, as are most Galactic Centres. The black hole of the Milky Way is unique, as it does not have a strong gravitational field to suck objects in, yet it has a strong enough gravitational field to keep upwards of 500 billion stars in its orbit.

As well, instead of being a portal to another dimension, the Milky Way's Galactic Centre is a facade - past the black hole border is a paradise which cannot be described in any language. Those that have explored this paradise come back lost for words.

Spiral Arms

The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy, which means they have a centre with spiralling arms extending from them, similar to a pinwheel. There are four major spiral arms in this galaxy:
  • Norma & Cygnus
  • Sagittarius
  • Scutum-Crux
  • Perseus
  • Intergalactic Neighbourhood

The Milky Way is part of a large intergalactic neighbourhood known as the Local Group. This galaxy is home to 49 other galaxies, including a handful of other famous galaxies such as the Andromeda Galaxy, the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds. The Milky Way is the largest galaxy in this cluster, and in the entirety of District 2.

The Milky Way is orbited by 90 other satellite galaxies, including the the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds, Severi, Antara and the Crater II Galaxies.

    Notable Solar Systems

    Kurhira System

The Kurhira System is a large solar system of 11 planets. It is most famous for the residents of Karkhala, the oanie. These large primate people have completely dominated much of Districts 1 and 2, transforming many Harvesting Planets and other celestial objects into factories and farmlands, to harvest resources just to benefit their home planet.

    Sol System

The Sol System is famous for having many authoritative Space Legions, such as the Jupiter and Mars Space Legions. The solar system has also seen the extinction of two major sophonts; humans and neptunians, both of which caused major conflicts between Jupiter and Mars.

    Cheem System

A more peculiar solar system, the Cheem System appeared out of nowhere. Its rainbow, X-Type star is one of a kind, and its countless planets have all unexpectedly spawned, orbiting the star.   The Cheem System's planets all appeared with native sophonts. Some are more advanced than others, with many having a notable presence in the form of their Space Legions.

    Galanti Cluster

The Galanti Cluster is one of the largest solar systems in the Milky Way, with just over three hundred planets in the white dwarf's orbit.   The Galanti Cluster is famous not just for its number of planets, but for the Galanti League. Sixty powerful members form a large society of magic wielders.
