Megiba Pethrano

Megiba Pethrano, commonly known as the Wild Worldbuilder, was a renowned sorcerer. This man had terraformed nearly a thousand planets to make room for civilisations, and was a figure of hope and sanctity.

He was cursed as a child, destined for a life of solitude and loneliness. He wandered the worlds of his creation, unable to interact with mortals, and no immortal wants to concern themselves with him, either.

His life came to an end around two thousand years ago, though sources vary. Megiba was swallowed by an exploding star, which ended up taking three planets with it. The star is now transitioning into a red giant, in the north of the Greater Oasis.

Curse of the Ages

A God walks among us.
Megiba Pethrano by Mochi

Being seen as a figure of hope for billions, yet being unable to interact with anyone, grew incredibly tiresome for Megiba.

Some say his mother was cursed while pregnant, and it transferred to him. Others say he crossed a line no being should ever cross, and it angered those in the Underworlds.

Whatever happened, whatever Megiba was cursed with, could not be undone.

Megiba first began terraforming uninhabited planets as a young adult. With his bone-spear, he could carve entire rivers in minutes, raise mountains from geomagnetic runes, and tearing out valleys and canyons.

Following him were fleets of spacecrafts carrying refugees and migrants from across the Milky Way. After Megiba transformed a planet into a paradise, a handful of ships would land and rebuild their home. As Megiba travelled throughout the galaxy, more people would follow. Over sixty billion people ended up discovering their new home thanks to Megiba.

Powers & Abilities

Megiba primarily utilised terramancy. This powerful magic helped him craft planets into viable homes for people, and together with his bone-spear, Megiba could shift the geological structure of a planet in days.

Megiba's powers went so far that he could "speak" to a planet, to understand its needs. Together with nature, water, and air magic, Megiba could transform any hunk of rock into an oasis fit for survival. The purple crystals embedded in his upper body helped concentrate his magic, while the bone-spear guided it. Together, it allowed Megiba to utilise magical energy at a level few could dream of replicating. To this day, there are only a handful of people with the raw strength to shift entire planets.

There's this really old book near the back of the historical museum about a guy a few thousand years ago. Something, someone, cursed him, and he couldn't talk or interact with anyone else in the whole world. Yet he was forced to wander the galaxy, turning barren planets into paradises for people to live in.
Imagine that. Your whole life, thousands of years, unable to talk to anyone. To hold anyone, to love anyone. And you have to serve those people. They don't know you can't talk to them. To them, you're a god.

I am so honoured to have become a small, yet beautiful part of your wonderful Yonderverse! Thank you! Also, dying by being swallowed up by a star is a pretty cool way to go out ngl ;)

What a conflicting life he had. Doing so much good, but never be able to directly interact with those he helped. I hope he was happy nonetheless.

Enjoy Worldember 2025!

Always fun to read an article about a divine figure <3 | Very interesting curse idea. Was it that others just couldn't sense him in any way, or was it that he was physically barred from going near people?   Typo: "...land and rebuilt their home."

Thank you! I need more divine people in my world. I'm still not sure how I feel about true gods being real, but I know I want figures like this, with godly powers. Mortals were aware of his existence, but he could not interact with them. It probably functioned like a physical barrier, and some mind***ery that meant mortals could get near him, but he could not get near them. It doesn't make logical sense, but that's how I like it >:)
