Liadin Rainforest
The Liadian Rainforest is a large tropical region in southern Neomia, a small continent on Ivucarro. Metraphites, the planet's hyper-adaptivite sophonts, evolved in this rainforest.

The rainforest's ecosystem thrives on hydromancy, or water magic. The region's plants have water-bending abilities, allowing them to funnel water through the soil into their roots, or redirect rainfall. Rivers curl, twirl, and fold in on itself around the rainforest. They dig through hills and small mountains forming gaping caverns, flourishing with bioluminescent mosses and algaes.
The Liadin Rainforest has a population around fifty thousand. Several large towns exist along the northern outskirts, as well as rural villages and hamlets scattered deep within.
Geography, Location & Climate
The region is extremely humid, seeing rainfall for two thirds of the year. This rainfall isn't absorbed into the soil, but runs down hillsides into the nearest river. Flash flooding is extremely common and most plants are well adapted to being submerged underwater for several days at a time.
The Liadin Rainforest is named after the liadin sporetree, bright yellow, orange, and pink mushrooms. These fungi dominate the forest, especially in the canopies. Their giant fan-shaped caps prevents sunlight from reaching the forest floor, but foliage still thrives thanks to the cycle of pearlescent stars, tiny star particles that help plants photosynthesise.
The rainforest borders the Liadin Plains to the north. The sporetrees of the same name grow around these plains but are much more scarce, thick orange grasses much more common. To the south is the Bay of Neomia, the largest bay on Ivucarro and one of the deepest points of the planet, with a maximum depth of almost two thousand metres.
Are there any plants that use their hydromancy-attunement to create a sheath of air around them during flash floods, or is that more of an aeromancy thing? "Metraphites the planet's hyper-adaptivite sophonts..." needs a comma
Hmm, I think it'd be more of an aeromancy thing! I think if any plant is hydromagical, they'd probably enjoy the flash floods xD
