Electromancy
Electromancy is the field of magic involving electrical energy. It is primarily seen inside of industrial settings, as electric magic can be used to power supermassive machinery with little cost. This field of magic spans from creating the tiniest spark to conjuring up worldwide storms.
It is a lethal magic, the slightest mistake and slip up causing death. It is a tricky magic to master and few become professionals without having suffered serious injuries.
Surge Realm
Electrical magic is drawn from the Surge Realm. It is overflowing with magical energy, spilling over into neighbouring realms. Some sorcerers spend their lives trying to contain leaking magical energy, which has devastating impacts.
I've spent my entire life trying to contain the energy seeping from the Surge Realm. It escapes in small bursts, terrorising other realms. This energy manifests into violent, erratic monsters. The longer they last outside of the Surge Realm, the stronger they grow.
The solid ground in this realm cracks and breaks apart after every lightning storm. Energy seeps through the ground, a hazy black smoke billowing out and filling the atmosphere.
It is extremely difficult, navigating the Surge Realm. The lands are ever shifting, torn apart by tremendously powerful supernatural forces.
Bright lights flash in the skies, where sparks of energy break through dimensional walls. These are an unimaginable distance away, but these sparks are so large that they still fill the sky, even billions of billions of miles away.
Utility & Usage
Hmm. Does this pulse detector actually work? The screen is just a bright blue. ...what? Yeah, look at it. Dude. That means we are in the middle of an electrical pulse storm. Like. We ought to be dead by now.
Mandatory Licenses
Hospitals around the Milky Way must carry a license to practice electromancy. As it is such a dangerous practice, only those specially trained can use it.This field of magic has a wide range of uses. One of its more notable uses is in the medical industry. Electrical energy can be used to help heal wounds and relieve pain, stimulate nerve endings, and ease chronic pain, among many other uses.
Professional electromancers can manipulate electrical and electromagnetic fields. This gives them the power to manipulate magnets, their strength and rotation. A magical surge can allow an electromancer to manifest new electromagnetic fields out of nothing.
Stormchasers, those that like to observe weather phenomena at close range, often train in electromancy. This allows them to track storms more efficiently, as well as observe at safe distances, much closer than the average person.
Rewiring Conscience
Electric magic can be used to rewire someone's conscience, the very fabric of their being. Shoot sparks into the brain to begin the rewiring process.Teleportation
Electromancers can use lightning bolts to teleport from one location to another. Lightning bolts are one of the more dangerous methods of teleportation.Resurrections
While not true resurrections, a single spark can revitalise a dying body. These spells are complex, with more than a hundred intricate steps.Users
Entire groups of electromancers are hard to come by. While other magics may have devoted organisations, electromancy typically isn't one of those. Sorcerers tend to isolate themselves from others of their kind; practicing this magic slowly alters your brain chemistry, passively pushing you away from other people and seeking a solitary lifestyle. It is unknown why this magic does this.
The Thunderbolt Citadel stands tall as the sole beacon of security and safety in the Surge Realm. The Yonderverse's most powerful electromancers operate within this grand building, working tirelessly for the past two thousand years to try and reign in feral strands of electromagical energy.
You are GROUNDED little missy. Moooooom, it was just a spark! I didn't mean to trip out the whole neighbourhood!
A proud member of the Galanti League, Roe Lecter was an important asset in the Galanti-Karkhala War. She managed to disable a massive fleet of almost six hundred auto-piloted atmoships.
Roe has been practicing electromancy since she was seven. Now semi-retired, she tends to a large aquatic farm, the only domestic breeding site of boltfish.
A large number of inanimals and dragons either utilise or are dependent on electromancy. Around a tenth of all dragons can command lightning, many able to use lightning to teleport around.
Storms also bring about many electromagical inanimals. Electrical energy attracts spirits that feed on electrical wires and machinery. These same creatures can haunt technological appliances, with millions of reports of computers, mobile phones, vehicles, going rogue across the Yonderverse.

Alright I love this field of magick, you brought it alive in such a fantastic way, and I like very much the focus on its more indirect applications instead of just hurling lightning bolts. Things like rewiring consciousness sound equal parts horrific (cause electroshock therapy was in fact heinous) but also just so weird and esoteric and oddly fascinating. 'Resurrections' the field of magick being used like a defibrillator is just *chef's kiss* perfection. And the 'Ride the Lightning' aspect of Teleportation is both visually awesome to consider and totally on brand and a great way to describe it. The Surge Realm is an excellent name and sounds absolutely crazy to visit, just constant lashing electrical energy all over, rending and ripping apart the landscape. Very cool, I like it very much :)
Wow, thank you so much! I like giving my magics realistic applications, ones that will actually benefit people in their daily lives. And in a technologically advanced society, electromancy will be veeery useful <3
