Sol Aureum

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Sol Aureum is the radiant seat of Helios, nestled high in the storm-kissed mountains of Eronia. Here, dawn is never fleeting; the eastern horizon glows with a perpetual sunrise, painting the peaks in gold, rose, and white fire. Pilgrims describe it as the very fountain of renewal, where each day feels like the world’s first morning.   Unlike the tranquil meadows of Amoria, Sol Aureum is vibrant and restless, a realm of motion and vitality. Mountain winds carry hymns across cathedral-valleys, waterfalls scatter prisms of light, and every dawn re-stirs the spirit of renewal.
Customs and Law
Sunrise Oath
All vows, contracts, and reconciliations in Sol Aureum must be spoken at the first light of dawn. The sky itself bears witness, golden fire etches across the clouds. Breaking such an oath stains the vow-breaker’s shadow with ash until amends are made.
Trial by Light
Disputes are not decided in shadow. Lit torches, mirrored pools, or the direct glow of dawn are used as courts. Ill-will and deceit falter in the open brightness, and testimony that thrives only in secrecy is rejected.
Bread of the Dawn
Hospitality is sacred at sunrise. A host who shares bread and clean water at dawn cannot strike their guest until the next sunrise bell, and a guest who betrays that peace finds their tongue bound with bitterness until confession.
The Renewal Mandate
Stagnation is considered a kind of blasphemy. Those who hoard wealth, stifle change, or refuse to aid renewal are judged by service: they must plant, build, or teach something that endures beyond themselves.
The Dimming Ban
Undeath, shadowcraft, and necrotic bindings are forbidden. A single whisper of such arts is silenced by the land—torches go cold, words choke, and only contrition or departure lifts the weight.
Festival of Beginnings
Every week a day is set aside for new undertakings. Pilgrims and petitioners must either begin a fresh task, restore a broken work, or set aside a grudge. Neglecting this rhythm of renewal causes roads to lengthen and paths to lose their way until the duty is fulfilled.
