Phyllis

Phyllis is in reasonably good physical shape when she arrives at The Arena, despite being a smoker since she was 17. She'll lose weight with everyone else while in the arena and on the road, but she'll get in better shape in Willowmoor.

Since Phyllis had gone to her sister's apartment to celebrate the New Year when the bombs dropped, she arrived at the arena in comfortable sweats, a hoodie, and sneakers. She will keep these articles of clothing even as she starts to acquire new ones. Typically, Phyllis wears muted colors.

Phyllis was born in the Before Times, so not much is known about her life before the bombs dropped.

Phyllis and her sister, Pelly, first made their way to the nearest police station on Pelly's suggestion, but they quickly realized the local cops were stretched thin and would be unable to provide any help. It was the cops, though, who suggested they make their way to the nearby arena, so that's the direction they headed. At first, Pelly tried to help every injured soul they came across, despite Phyllis's objections, but then they came across a person who was only pretending to need help. When the two sisters approached this man, his companions came out of hiding to attack. This was when the sisters met Pete, who happened to be nearby at the time and came to their rescue. He might have been killed in the attempt if it were not for Phyllis's fast thinking, as she distracted the ruffians by offering her pack of cigarettes, which she then threw away. It was just enough time for the three to escape, Pete joining the two sisters on the unhappy remainder of their journey to the arena. Phyllis went into the experience not trusting most people, and she only believes more firmly in that now.

Phyllis is unforgiving, holding grudges against those who do her wrong. She believes in goodness; if nothing else, her sister demonstrated it consistently.

Like many of the survivors, Phyllis is motivated by a desire to return to some form of normal so that she can continue to live her life.

Phyllis is good at at crochet and and speaking bluntly without concern.

Her people skills are non-existent.

Phyllis joins the Advisory Council and later the Caravan Conclave solely because her sister pushes her to. After Pelly's death, Phyllis will go on to serve as a representative of the people in the Willowmoor government, a role she chooses solely because she believes her sister would have wanted her to.

Phyllis and her sister arrived at the arena together with Pete, who they met along the way. She will find new friends among the group of survivors as well.

Phyllis arrived at the arena with her younger sister, Pelly, who passes away before they reach the future site of Willowmoor.

Phyllis is an atheist.

Phyllis enjoys cross-stitching and watching horror movies.

She has no pets.
