Na'Daoine are an odd lot, clearly having the ability to rule yet choosing not to, tailor made to be the stuff of nightmares yet provoking nobody. Originally created by
Maitre Na'Daoine (Origin) during the conversion of the former Lord's people after being forced to take over and marry
The Lord's Daughter they became one of Maitre's primary
Projects. Maitre carefully cultivated this group like a garden, turning the organization into an elite group and eventually cast off their humanity along with their Progenitor and future Ancestor.
Na'Daoine are a Clan of Cultivators, the first within
Ihmisen Keh'to, at least within known history. Despite being the most powerful organization in the Cradle of Humanity, most of the members are no longer human and under Maitre's command act as a separate group within it's borders - serving as guardians and teachers but having little further interaction with the people here outside of using them as a source of new recruits and incubators. Whether this is due to some form of sense of loss at no longer being human or as a conservation project similar to how people treat endangered species isn't known.
Na'Daoine are set up in a caste system which combines a military structure and hierarchy to its members. At the top is
Maitre Na'Daoine (Silentiun), the progenitor of Na'Daoine, while below her is
Comhairle Dusan (The Council of Twelve) who are in charge of governing The Clan. The rest of
Silentiun are organized in a caste system similar to Royalty, Nobility, Citizens, and Servants based on the merit of them individually and the ensemble of four to five
Silentiun each individual belongs to.
Despite the silvery gleam of their Nest's Lampio,
Silentiun somehow strike a balance between asceticism and abundance. Perhaps this is because
Maitre Na'Daoine (Silentiun) didn't value wealth itself, but rather what wealth could bring about. Nearly all assets of Na'Daoine directly serve a function, even their opulent nests are powerful protective architecture full to the brim of armaments and food. Common luxuries such as precious metals and gemstones can be seen everywhere, but not for their appearance (though they do go out of their way to make everything beautiful) so much as such materials being useful in refinement, enchantment, and crafting itself.
Na'Daoine did not exist before the
Silentiun and as such are an extremely recent edition to
Ihmisen Keh'to, appearing from seemingly nowhere to be the first and most powerful cultivation organization within The Cradle of Humanity. Na'Daoine was founded by
Maitre Na'Daoine (Silentiun) after she converted the willing members from her
Lord's Manor into her "children" by molding them into
Silentiun based on the already existing structure that she had created for the organization.
Na'Daoine, as a clan, is relatively low in population but have exponential potential for growth. Despite their low gestation and growth periods, ability to have multiple incubators, and large number of offspring the Silentiun instead choose to keep their populations in check due to the vast cost each one of their members bring to their Nests and instead go through periods of stasis in between explosive growth when they create a new Nest to expand their territory and influence. These nests tend to be in remote and hard to reach locations, enough so that they can have their privacy from Outsiders.
Compared to the relatively small population of Silentiun in their Nests, the area surrounding them tends to have a large population of Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) consisting of all kinds of races (and especially races with mixed blood) in smaller satellite Nests which create a Formation with the main Nest as the core. These Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) tend to come from nearby areas and reflect the local populations nearby, but have been recruited by Na'Daoine and serve them instead of whatever organizations they used to belong to.
Ihmisen Keh'to is the seat of Na'Daoine power, especially
The Capital continent in the center which
Maitre Na'Daoine (Silentiun) took over after removing the threat there. Though
Paaomarapu lies within the Capital, Na'Daoine has a major governing Nest within each of the four nations which oversees the area and more are erected as the
Silentiun expand into
Maailma as a whole.
While Na'Daoine don't have a standing military organization, every
Silentiun which makes up its ranks are educated in military strategy from an early age, combined with their cultivation this makes the entire clan a powerful military force. To take advantage of this fact, Na'Daoine established the Ensembles in which their members are organized and is the smallest unit of military activity The Clan has. In addition to this, military exploit is one of the major factors in which a
Silentiun can move up within the caste system and the higher the caste an individual
Silentiun belongs to the more members of the caste below them they command - essentially creating a loose military structure similar to any other army in the world... though the
Silentiun can fight in any terrain even without outside help such as beasts, magic, or vehicles.
Due to the
Silentiun itself being an invention of
Maitre Na'Daoine (Silentiun), Na'Daoine are a highly advanced civilization in each of the four paths of
Ihmisen Keh'to (Martial, Magical, Spiritual, and Technological) and furthermore follow Maitre's cultivation methods which perfectly fuse the four into one. Never mind the personal vehicles which can go at high speed through any terrain and seem to have unlimited fuel and great defensive capability, just within their genetically engineered bodies is a system of nanites resulting from while bound to their soul is their own personal guardian spirit. Not only this, but Na'Daoine is the source of nearly all cultivation in
Ihmisen Keh'to, providing the knowledge, techniques, and treasures for the rest of humanity to slowly catch up to the rest of
Maailma.
Na'Daoine have little overt interaction with Outsiders, since they need little from them. However, they do see the benefit of having friendly relations with neighboring factions - so long as these factions aren't hostile to them on principle. Usually the
Silentiun merely recruit those who hold similar beliefs as them or whom have bloodlines which they don't already have access to into
Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) as a buffer between them and Outsiders. In the rare cases in which a faction is hostile on principal and can't live under the same sky as Na'Daoine, they wait in preparation until those hostilities erupt and remove the threat at the root while claiming anything the
Silentiun would want from them in the process.
While the founding of a nest will yield a great amount of natural resources through the excavation process, Na'Daoine infrastructure is based almost entirely on the silk-like substance they naturally produce before being refined, enchanted, and going through other such processes to create most of what they need. Therefor, most of Na'Daoine production actually lies in the production of food be it agricultural or animal husbandry within the biodomes of their Nests or hunting and gathering outside of them. As such, they tend to ply in more specialist products such as gemstones, precious metals, natural treasures, and the like and will have
Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) oversee the mines, forests, and other such production sites in their stead with only an ensemble of
Silentiun as overseers.
Trade with Outsiders is rare, and oft done only for diplomatic purposes than any real need.
Silentiun tend to focus their trade on curios, food, and bloodlines in exchange for their own specialty products and this is usually done in small enough amounts that a
Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) can transport them in a single ship to and from the neighboring nations, which is good since things such as storage rings and bags of holding are still rare within
Ihmisen Keh'to. Furthermore since Na'Daoine are set up within the trade capital of
Ihmisen Keh'to there is very little they don't have access to at relatively cheap prices.
Education and training are extremely thorough for young Na'Daoine, despite having access to The Network which grants them shared knowledge. Part of this is because theoretical knowledge falls shy of knowledge you've actually practiced, while another is without training the body to be used to an action it doesn't matter if you know how to do something or not, and finally it is to build up the foundation of the youth instead of using The Network as a crutch. There are multiple stages for this education and training, with education starting from the time they can speak and training starting from the time they can walk, neither of which ever end while the Silentiun in question still lives.
While
Na'Daoine study myriad subjects, the youth of a
Silentiun focuses around a few key ones with the rest being explored on a voluntary basis later on in life. These key subjects for education are arithmetic, natural science and chemistry, language and linguistics, craftsmanship in a variety of mediums, medical and survival skills, behavioral studies, music and art, economics, and the theories of military and politics.
Na'Daoine also attend sermons on the Dao throughout their life. In comparison their training is deceptively simple, with martial training focusing on both individual and group combat, physical fitness, and Cultivation. These skills give them a well rounded education which will grant them the knowledge to face most situations in life.
The Nest is the quintessential infrastructure of Na'Daoine. Each Nest is a pagoda like skyscraper with flying buttresses (called the Lampio) surrounded by multiple rings of agricultural land and gardens separated and connected by by channels of water in a Formation is all that can be seen from the surface (called the Mara). While each Mara appears to serve both aesthetic and agricultural purposes, their main purpose is a protective barrier due to their design creating powerful Arrays and Restrictions (which are further enhanced by each sub-nest of
Na'Daoine (Outer Sect) around the perimeter). The Lampio, on the other hand, serves as the military outpost holding the
Silentiun in charge of guarding the nest as well as the the armory containing the myriad vehicles and weapons for the nest to mobilize a defense. As impressive as this all is, most of the Nest is actually subterranean in a complicated system of biodomes which mimic myriad environments from frozen tundras to tropical jungles and arid deserts to vast oceans - like a technologically advanced ant's nest.
