WorldEmber '25 Pledge

Hello, all!
I am pledging to write at least 25k words for my world, focusing on the information to my story, By the Hand of Light. Even though I have been using World Anvil (on and off) for a few years now, this will be my first ever contest that I will be joining. So I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I made the official goal of 25k because I don't want to burn myself out. But it would be extra nice if I hit the 50k goal.

Side Note:

While I do have other articles in place, I set them to private since I want to unfold my world as my stories come out. Since I'm officially working on my first story, please understand that my world is currently very small. Here's to hoping that this challenge will keep me focused and expand on a certain topic instead of jumping all over the place in my world.

By the Hand of Light

My world is massive and has a lot going on. And because of that, I would jump from one part of the world to another part, never sticking to one category of any type (species, characters, that part of the world, etc). While writing By the Hand of Light for (ProWritingAid) NovNov and (Reedsy) Novel Sprint, I had much time to think about where and who to show my story to. And because of that, it made me want to approach my world in a different way to make it easier for both myself and any visitors. The idea is to focus on a single story's elements (ie: By the Hand of Light) and flesh those specific articles that would be related to that specific story. This makes it easier for me because I'll now focus on a single category instead of story/world hopping. As for my visitors, while the entire world, at some point, will be accessible, being able to visit certain parts of the world should make things less scary and much easier to navigate.

Plan your writing schedule

I plan to do at least 3 articles per week. With the holidays coming up, I know it'll be a tad bit harder to stay focused, but I am hoping to get past that and follow through with the 25k goal and maybe even the 50k goal. To keep myself from skipping around, I’ll write each major article as the topic appears in my story's chapters, so readers can explore more detail in real time.

What kind of people can you find in your worldbuilding area?

There will be villagers, priests, priestesses, soldiers, and an elder. Along with maiaaks, devils, and other unnamed creatures. Although not all maiaaks, devils, and unnamed creatures are humanoid. While most of the story follows Luna’s journey, these people and creatures shape the fragile balance between faith and fear across her path.
